Сценарий открытого внеклассного мероприятия «A Literary Quiz»

Цель: развитие познавательной активности учащихся, формирование толерантного отношения к культуре и традициям другого народа.

Задачи:

Образовательные:

• актуализация знаний учащихся по изученным темам;
• повышать познавательный интерес учащихся к языку через использование игровых моментов;
• обучение навыкам восприятия на слух иностранных слов;
• активизация навыков и умений в говорении, аудировании устной и письменной речи.

Развивающие:

• развитие творческих способностей и коммуникативных навыков;
• повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка у учащихся;
• развитие внимания и памяти;
• развивать умение работать в группе.

Воспитательные:

• умение работать в сотрудничестве с другими;
• воспитывать уважительное отношение к другой культуре.

T: - Good afternoon, children! Welcome to our literary quiz show. During the whole month we have been studying British literature and now it's high time to find out which team knows this subject better.

The first task I would like you to do is called "Right or wrong". I am going to read some statements about English literature and books in general. You should decide whether they are right or wrong.

T: - Well done. Our competition is going on. At the beginning of our contest you've said that there are many famous writers and poets in Britain. Do you know the names of the most famous poets? What are they? Do you know the poems which were written by them? Can you recite them by heart? Let's listen to the poems you have learnt at home.

T: - In conclusion, I would like you to sing a song. It is a Scottish folk song "My Bonnie". But first of all a few words in Russian.

Шотландская народная песня "My Bonnie" известна с 18 в. Точного происхождения песни никто не знает, но есть интересная версия о том, что песня возможно связана с именем принца Карла Эдуарда Стюарта, известного как Красавчик принц Чарли, который после поражения в битве при Каллодене в 1746 г., вынужден был бежать и скрываться на острове Скай. Возможно это приверженцы якобиты сочинили и распевали эту песню в честь принца Чарли и их общего дела. Со стороны же могло показаться, что они распевают просто любовную песню, потому как "Bonnie" (красивый, милый) может относиться как к мужчине, так и к женщине.

Сражение при Каллодене (англ. Battle of Culloden) - сражение, произошедшее в ходе второго якобитского восстания 16 апреля 1746 года в окрестностях Каллодена, селения в северной Шотландии неподалёку от города Инвернесс, между сторонниками Карла Эдуарда Стюарта, претендента на британский престол, и правительственными британскими войсками под начальством герцога Камберлендского; якобиты были разбиты, сам Стюарт сумел спастись и скрыться во Франции. Сражение при Каллодене фактически поставило точку в Якобитском восстании. Оно также нанесло сильный удар по клановой системе Шотландии. Это было последнее крупное сражение на Британских островах.

"My Bonnie" - очень красивая, мелодичная и популярная песня на английском языке. Её разучивают и с удовольствием поют изучающие английский язык во всем мире. В англоговорящих странах "My Bonnie" любят петь на кораблях и в походах, скауты у костров, а молодые мамы у колыбелек своих малышек.

Слова песни очень просты, поэтому я предлагаю припев напевать всем вместе.
