Тип урока: урок активизации лексико-грамматического материала по теме «Across the sights of London».

Виды деятельности: Систематизация знаний по теме «Across the sights of London».

Тренировка употребления новой лексики по данной теме в устной диалогической и монологической речи. Аудирование и инсценирование диалогов по изучаемой теме. Выполнение грамматических и лексических заданий, с целью закрепления пройденного материала.

Цель урока: развитие социокультурной компетенции, расширение и углубление знаний по теме «Посещение достопримечательностей Лондона».

Задачи урока:

1.Образовательные:
а) практика речевой деятельности: чтение, аудирование, письмо;
б) активизация лексики по теме «Лондон», расширение словарного запаса;
в) развитие коммуникативной компетенции учащихся;

2. Воспитательные:
а) развитие интереса к изучению иностранного языка;
б) знакомство учащихся с достопримечательностями столицы Великобритании;
в) приобщение к культурному и историческому наследию народа страны изучаемого языка.

Форма проведения: Виртуальная экскурсия по столице страны изучаемого языка.

Оснащение:
- класс оформляется картой Великобритании, рисунками с достопримечательностями Лондона;
- таблица неправильных глаголов;
- задания, которые будут выполняться в ходе экскурсии;
- презентация к уроку на тему «Посещение достопримечательностей Лондона».
- видео фрагмент о Лондонском Тауэре.

Для реализации поставленных цели и задач урока необходимо формирование следующих УУД (универсальных учебных действий):

Личностные:

  • формирование интереса к овладению английским языком;
  • формирование бытовых навыков (знание названий достопримечательностей столицы Соединенного Королевства);

Регулятивные:

  • применение знакомого языкового материла по теме «Посещение достопримечательностей Лондона» в речевой ситуации (ответы на вопросы учителя);
  • умение решать проблемные ситуации и принимать решения;
  • умение распознавать в тексте нужную информацию;

Познавательные:

  • умение делать выводы, выделять причинно-следственные связи (выполнение грамматических заданий по прослушанному тексту)
  • увеличение словарного запаса обучающихся (отработка и закрепление ЛЕ по теме «Посещение достопримечательностей Лондона»);

Коммуникативные:

  • способствовать формированию готовности к иноязычному общению, воспитанию доброжелательного отношения друг к другу и культуры поведения
  • уметь воспринимать иноязычную речь на слух (речь учителя, ученика, диктора);
  • владение монологической речью (рассказать по картинкам о различных достопримечательностях столицы Великобритании).

Планируемые образовательные результаты:

Личностные:

  • знакомство с основными достопримечательностями Лондона – столицы страны изучаемого языка с использованием средств изучаемого иностранного языка
  • формирование уважительного отношения к культуре других народов.

Метапредметные:

  • развитие коммуникативных способностей обучающихся;
  • расширение общего лингвистического кругозора обучающихся;
  • развитие познавательной, эмоциональной и волевой сфер подростков;
  • формирование мотивации к изучению иностранного языка;
  • усвоение обще-учебных умений и универсальных познавательных действий, к которым относится извлечение информации из предоставляемого лексического, грамматического и аудироемого материала.

Предметные:

В говорении обучающийся научится:

  • вести и поддерживать диалог, формировать монологическое высказывание.

В аудировании обучающийся получит возможность научиться:

  • понимать на слух речь преподавателя по ведению урока; выказывания одногруппников, речь носителя языка;

В чтении обучающийся получит возможность научиться:

  • читать текст с извлечением необходимой информации.

В письме обучающийся научится:

  • выполнять лексико-грамматическое упражнение.

Лексическая сторона речи

Обучающийся научится:

  • понимать значение лексических единиц в письменном тексте по теме «Посещение достопримечательностей Лондона»;
  • использовать в речи лексические единицы, обслуживающие ситуации общения по теме «Посещение достопримечательностей Лондона» в соответствии с коммуникативной задачей.

Деятельность преподавателя:

Планирует работу обучающихся заранее, осуществляет оперативный контроль, оказывает помощь, поддержку и вносит коррективы в их деятельность.

Пояснение к уроку. Длительность урока 45 минут.

Уроку предшествует ознакомление с грамматическим правилом «Страдательный залог», лексическим материалом «Соединенное Королевство Великобритании и Северной Ирландии».

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент. Сообщение целей и задач урока

Teacher: (слайд 1) Good morning dear children and our guests. I hope you are fine. Today we have the lesson of English. Our lesson won’t be ordinary one. (слайд 2) We are going to make a trip to Great Britain. We shall visit London and it’s sights. We will see many historical places of London. Today I will be your guide.

Are you ready? Let’s start!

Stewardess: (Слайд 3) Ladies and gentlemen! This is your stewardess speaking. I would like to welcome you abroad British Airways. We are flying to London. We are flying at an altitude of 11000 meters. Our flight time will be approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes. Please, keep your seatbelts fastened all the time. I wish you a wonderful flight!

This country consists of England, Scotland, Wales
3. Where is Great Britain located?
G.B. is located on the Northwest coast of Europe.

4. What are the main cities of the country?

The largest cities of Great Britain are London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh.

5. Who is the head of Great Britain? - The Queen.

6. What`s her name?

Her name is Elizabeth II

Teacher: I see you know lots about Great Britain, but let`s remember about London. Have you prepared to the visit of London? Boys and girls, your home task was to find out information about London. Are you ready?

Pupil 1: (слайд 6) I know that London is the capital and the largest city of the United Kingdom. It is also a huge port, one of the world’s greatest commercial centers, a science city, and the seat of the British Government.

Pupil 2: (слайд 7) London is a great educational and cultural center. The most important parts of London are the City of London (слайд 8), The East End and the West End.

Pupil 3: (слайд 9) The West End is full of the richest hotels, largest supermarkets, best cinemas and concert halls. There are a lot of beautiful houses and gardens. Only well-to-do people can live there.

Pupil 4: (слайд 10) The East End of London is the industrial area and the place where the working people live. There are many factories, workshops and docks there.

Teacher: Oh, good of you!

Stewardess: (Слайд 11) Ladies and gentlemen, attention, please, our plane is landing in Heathrow Airport in London. Our flight has finished. Unfasten your seatbelts, please. I thank you for flying British Airways. Have a good time in London! Good-bye!

Teacher: Welcome to London! Let’s start our sightseeing tour. (слайд 12) My dear tourists, there are some ways of moving around London. Let’s choose! We can travel by a double-decker bus, a black taxi, an underground or a plane.

Pupil: It will be interesting to go by a double-decker bus.

Teacher: You’ve made the right choice! Make yourself comfortable, please. Boys and girls, look, please, at the screen. (слайд 13) You can see our routing sheet. And what places must we visit?

  • the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben

  • Buckingham Palace
  • Trafalgar Square
  • The Tower of London

Teacher: Where are we going now?

Pupils: (слайд 14) To the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

Teacher: The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

The palace of Westminster, usually known as the Houses of Parliament, (слайд 15) was used both as a royal residence and as a parliament house until 1512.

(слайд 16) There are two towers in the Palace of Westminster: the Victoria Tower and the Clock Tower. The Victoria Tower holds the records of both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. (слайд 17) The British flag (called the Union Jack), flying from Victoria Tower shows that Parliament is in session. (слайд 18, 19, 20) The light in the Clock Tower also indicates that Parliament is in session.

(слайд 21) The clock came into service in 1859 and was nicknamed "Big Ben". Big Ben is the biggest clock bell in Britain. (слайд 22) It weighs 13,5 tons. The clock bell was called Big Ben after Sir Benjamin Hall. (слайд 23) Sir Benjamin was a very tall and stout man, whose nickname was "Big Ben". One day someone joked, "Why not call it Big Ben?"

Pupil: Now the bell is known all over the world by that name.

Teacher: The following point will be Westminster Abbey. (слайд 24)

Pupil: Westminster Abbey is a Gothic monastery church in London, isn’t it?

Teacher: Yes, it is. (слайды 25,26,27)) Westminster Abbey is a Gothic monastery church in London that is the traditional place of coronation and burial for English monarchs.
Located next to the Houses of Parliament in the heart of London, Westminster Abbey is a must-see for any London visitor. (слайд 28)

The interior is a veritable museum of English history. (слайды 29-32) Among many highlights are the medieval coronation throne; Poet's Corner with its memorials to William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, and other giants of literature; and the tombs of Queen Elizabeth I, "Bloody" Queen Mary, explorer David Livingstone and naturalist Charles Darwin.
Teacher: Let’s visit Buckingham Palace.

4.1 Отработка навыков ведения диалогического общения.

Teacher: Oh, boys and girls, look here. (слайд 33) This is the Queen of the United Kingdom. She is walking around with her guards. Let’s come closer and maybe we’ll have a talk with her.

Pupil1: Oh, it is a great opportunity. I know her name is Elizabeth II.

Teacher: Excuse us, your majesty! Good day. We are the group of tourist. Can we ask you some questions?

Elizabeth II: Of course! With a pleasure. By the way, what country are you from?

Pupil 2: We are from the Russian Federation. We are going sightseeings of London and it will be very interesting to know more about Buckingham Palace. (слайд 34) What is Buckingham Palace?

Elizabeth II: (слайд 35) Buckingham Palace is my official London residence and is used to receive and entertain guests on state, ceremonial and official occasions for the Royal Family.
Pupil 3: Tell us, please, when was it built?

Elizabeth II: (слайд 36) Buckingham Palace was built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham. In 1762, the English King George III bought this palace and restored this building. In 1993, the palace was opened for the tourists for the first time.

Pupil 4: Your majesty, unfortunately Buckingham Palace is closed for visitors now. When is it open?

Elizabeth II:  My residence is open to visitors during August and September.

Pupil 5: It is said, Buckingham Palace has a police station, two post offices, a hospital, a bar, 2 sport clubs, a disco, a cinema, a swimming pool. There are 600 rooms and 3 miles of red carpet. About 700 people work in the palace. Is it true?

Elizabeth II: (слайд 37) Yes, it is. This Palace is a very big building. Only 19 staterooms can be seen by the tourists. They house some of the Royal family's greatest treasures including paintings and the finest French and English furniture. (слайд 38)

Pupil 6: Dear Queen, what can we see right now?

Elizabeth II:  The Palace is located between The Green Park, Hyde Park and St. James's Park. Tour them or let’s admire The Сhanging of the Guards of Buckingham Palace. (слайд 39) It starts at 11.30 every morning in summer and winter and lasts about 30 minutes. It’s very colorful and musical. (слайд 40)

Teacher: Your majesty, thank you for your attention and answers. Come to our country!

Teacher: (слайд 41) Boys and girls, we are shot of time. The following point of our tour is Trafalgar Square. It is a place popular with tourists. This square is also the geographical centre of London. In Trafalgar Square, there are two big fountains. (слайд 42) In the centre of the square, you can see a tall column a monument to Admiral Nelson. (слайды 43-44) Not far from here, there is the Tower of London. It will be the last point of our tour.

Pupil 1: Let’s go there on foot. (слайд 45) To the left of us we can see the National gallery. It has a fine collection of European paintings.

Pupil 2: National Gallery is a nice building with columns. It is rich in pictures. The gallery is famous for its collections.

Pupil 3: Look right. (слайд 46) We are passing Hyde Park.

Pupil 4: In the park anyone can stand up and say what they want. It is a very democratic place. A lot of people come to Hyde Park to have rest.

Pupil 5: You can go boating or walk on the grass. People from many countries come to the Speaker’s Corner to listen and to speak here. (слайд 47)

4.3 Закрепление грамматического материала на основе просмотренного текста.

Teacher: And now, my dear tourists, let’s check what have you known about the Tower of London. Your task will be to open the brackets in the following text using Present Simple Passive and Past Simple Passive. Let’s remember the formation of these tenses (слайд 52).

The Tower of London (слайд 53)

The Tower of London (build) by William the Conqueror in 1078 as a castle and palace. Since that time it (expand) to its present size, and (use) as an Armory, a zoo, a royal mint, a prison, and a museum. At the time when it was a prison a lot of people (lock) in the Tower for their religious beliefs or suspected treason. Some of the prisoners (allow) to walk in the grounds, live in comfortable rooms and receive visitors. Many convicted (publicly/execute) on Tower Hill. The Jewel House (situate) at the Tower. The collection of the Crown Jewels (keep) in it. Saint Edward’s Crown, the Imperial State Crown, and the royal scepter (guard) there. Saint Edward’s Crown (use) for the coronation ceremonies. 3000 precious jewels (contain) in the Imperial State Crown.

(слайд 56) They like to say: “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life”.
