Цель урока: активизировать знания учеников об известных людях нашей республики.

Обучающие задачи:

• совершенствовать лексические навыки по теме «Биография известных людей».
• развивать умения и навыки говорения, аудирования.
• закрепить умения образования существительных, обозначающих профессии.

Развивающие задачи: развивать фонематический слух, внимание.

Воспитательная задача: привить интерес к ценностям национальной культуры

1. Вводная часть

- Good afternoon, my dear friends! I’m glad to see you! Welcome to our lesson! (Teacher shows the 2nd slide “The National Portrait Gallery“ in London).  Look at the picture. What is it? Where can you see this Gallery? Whose portraits can you see there? Give the examples. Today we are going to speak about the Portrait Gallery but not in London.

- Now let’s revise the ways of formation of professions. (The teacher shows the 3rd and 4th slides).

(The pupils do the exercise in pairs for 2-3 minutes. Checking the results.)

3. Основная часть.

- Now shut your eyes, please, and imagine. We have the National Portrait Gallery in Cheboksary. You are in the Gallery, looking at the portraits and photos of outstanding people. Open your eyes. (The teacher shows the 5th slide. He makes 3 groups of pupils, who fill in the table 2-3 minutes.)

- Let’s check your ideas. (The answers are written on the board).

- Well done. Now look at these photos. (The 6th slide) Do you know these people? Who are they?

Now we are ready to start.

Speaker 1. This person was born in the family of the priest. He got higher theological education. Then he studied the history of the peoples of China, Central and Middle Asia, the Far East.

Speaker 2. This person was a solist of the Bolshoi theatre of Russia and got a gold medal at the 2nd International competition of ballet artists.

Speaker 3. This person is the third pilot - cosmonaut. On the 11th of August he made a flight on the spaceship “Vostok”. He was a general - major of the aviation, the Hero of the USSR.

Speaker 4. This person was one of the outstanding students of I. J. Jakovlev. His poem “Narspi” became a classical model of Chuvash literature. But he was also a painter, a translator, a folklore collector.

Speaker 5. This person was a scientist, the author of the 17 - volume dictionary of the Chuvash language. He studied the theory of origin of the Chuvash people.
