Методическая разработка занятия по английскому языку на тему «Dentistry» («Стоматология») на 3-м курсе медицинского колледжа

Основные цели занятия:

• Повышение уровня умения активного использования усвоенных лексических единиц в рамках темы;
• Закрепление навыков устной речи в рамках темы “Стоматология”;
• Воспитание потребностей здорового образа жизни;

Задачи занятия:

Учебные:

• Закрепить навыки устной речи, полученные в ходе изучения данной темы “Dentistry”;
• Ознакомить учащихся со строением зуба, изучить части зуба;
• Ознакомить студентов с разными видами отбеливания зубов;
• Изучить правила гигиены ротовой полости (зубов) и правила правильного питания для поддержания полости рта в здоровом состоянии;

Воспитательные:

• Воспитание потребностей здорового образа жизни;
• Воспитание культуры питания и бережного отношения к своему здоровью.

Развивающие:

• Развивать речевые навыки;
• Развивать умение анализировать и сравнивать

Вид занятия: комбинированный; продолжительность занятия: 90 минут.

Оборудование: мультимедийная установка; раздаточный материал

Ход урока

1. Учитель:

- Good morning! Our lesson is devoted to the huge section of medicine Dentistry. Today we`ll know about many interesting things. What is the subject of the medical section “Dentistry”? (Teeth).

2. Учитель:

- But at the beginning let`s try to define what concepts are connected with the word “teeth”.

С помощью студентов составляется семантическая карта по разделу “Стоматология”. В итоге общая семантическая карта выводится на мультимедийной установке (слайд №2):

Dentistry

TEETH:

dental hygiene	dental diseases
rules of tooth brushing	structure of tooth

- Today we`ll study the structure of teeth, get acquainted with different ways of whitening teeth, study dental hygiene and dental diet.

3. Учитель:

- So, let`s start with the structure of teeth. Please, look at the picture (слайд №3; №4).

Each tooth consists of a crown and a root. There is a neck between a crown and a root.

Enamel is the outer covering of the crown and is the hardest substance in the body.

Cementum is the outer covering of the root and is structure to bone. Cementum meets enamel at the neck of the tooth.

Dentine occupies the interior of the crown and root, and is very sensitive to pain.

Pulp. Unlike enamel, dentine and cementum, the pulp is purely soft tissue. It contains blood vessels and nerves, and occupies the centre of the dentine.

A tooth is attached to its socket in the jaw by a soft fibrous tissue called the periodontal membrane. [1]

4. Студентам задаются вопросы по строению зуба:

1. What is purely soft tissue occupying the centre of the dentine? (Pulp)
2. What is the outer covering of the crown and the hardest substance in the body? (Enamel)
3. What is the outer covering of the root and is structure to bone? (Cementum)
4. What does occupy the interior of the crown and root? (Dentine)
5. A tooth is attached to its socket in the jaw by __________.(periodontal membrane)

5. Затем учащимся предлагается выполнить задание (слайд №5).

Учитель:

- Look at this slide, please. Your task is: put the correct name of the tooth`s part into the definition.

Учащимся раздаются аналогичные задания на бумаге. Работа выполняется письменно, затем листочки с выполненными заданиями сдаются.

6. Учитель:

- Now let`s talk about whitening of teeth. But at first let's watch videos.

Учащимся демонстрируются два видеоролика об отбеливании зубов.[3; 4] Первый видеоролик об отбеливании зубов в домашних условиях при помощи прибора “white light”, второй ролик об отбеливании зубов специальным раствором в стоматологической клинике.

7. Учитель:

What causes of darkening of teeth do you know? (Coffee, tea, tobacco, cola, red wine). Please, raise hands those who consider that bleaching of teeth in house conditions with the help “white light” is better than bleaching of teeth by means of special solution in dental clinic.

Учащиеся делятся на две команды: кто “за” отбеливание в домашних условиях и кто “за” отбеливание в клинике. Даётся задание: Какие аргументы вы можете предоставить в доказательство преимущества вашего способа отбеливания зубов.

Учитель:

- What arguments can you provide as proof of advantage of your way of bleaching of teeth.

Студенты приводят свои аргументы:

Учитель:

- What for do we white our teeth? (for hygiene, health, beauty). It is clear that both methods of bleaching of teeth can be in our life. Both of them have the pluses and the minuses. Each patient chooses that way which suits him.

8. Учитель:

- Now let`s talk about dental hygiene and dental diet. But we will do it in the unusual way. I will give each group the text (one text is about dental hygiene another one is about dental diet). The text is divided into small parts. Each of you have to read the part of the text, and then you one after another (each part has a number) tell the group briefly that you have read. A task of everyone is to remember the summary of the text. And after everyone will have to answer a question (out of his range the text). So for correct answer a question you have to listen to the colleagues carefully.

Каждой группе предлагаются тексты, поделённые на части. (Приложение №1 и Приложение №2) [2]. Каждая часть – абзац текста. Задача для каждого учащегося: прочитать свою часть текста и кратко (фраза, либо краткое предложение) донести содержание своей части текста до группы. После каждый должен письменно ответить на предложенный вопрос по тексту (вопрос не по твоей части текста).

2. What element is essential for the development of teeth?
3. What for do we also need calcium?
4. What food is harmful for teeth?
5. What is the best dental diet?
6. What food must be limited for children?
7. What food is better for teeth and gums?

9. Учитель:

- What did you learn at the lesson? What was difficult for you? Was it interesting for you? What new about dental health did you learn? How will you use it in your future profession?
