Цели урока:
- Обучение изучающему чтению по теме “Как добиться успеха”.
- Актуализация навыков устной речи.
- Совершенствование навыков письменной речи.
Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент. Сообщение темы и цели урока.
- Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you.
- How are you, children?
- Today we’ll read and discuss the texts about the getting to the top of success. How can you translate the word combination “to get to the top of success?”
- You are right, let’s start then.
II. Тренировка фонетических и орфографических навыков.
- The first task for you is to complete some word combinations on the blackboard. Fill in the missing letters in the words and translate them. Who is ready to read the words? Can you translate the words? Let’s read them. Exchange the copybooks and check up your partner’s work.
Учащимся предлагается вставить пропущенные буквы в словах на слайде и записать их в тетрадь. Для контроля орфографических навыков ученики в парах меняются тетрадями, а учитель показывает слайд с правильным вариантом написания данных слов.

III. Обучение изучающему чтению.
- It’s time to open your student’s books, page 159, exercise 18. I’m sure you are interested in reading some information about Julian and Gary’s careers. After reading be ready to answer the questions:
- Which options do the authors give for choosing a career?
- What are the traditional requirements for a job?
Учитель предлагает учащимся прочитать текст из упражнения 18, стр.159-160 с целью выполнения задания после текста: ответить на вопросы с зачитыванием предложений из текста для аргументации своего выбора.
IV. Совершенствование навыков письменной и устной речи.
- As you see Julian and Gary followed some steps in their careers. Make a list of the four traditional job requirements mentioned in the texts. Which of them, do you think, will be essential for you in the future? Give your reasons and discuss them with your classmates.
Учитель организует выполнение упражнения 19, стр.161. Учащиеся выписывают в тетрадь свои варианты ответов, а затем обсуждают их с одноклассниками.
V. Ролевая игра A Guessing Game.
- Now let’s play. Choose a student to be the leader. The leader should think of one of the workers, he shouldn’t tell which worker it is. The other students will take turns guessing what the worker does. The student who guesses correctly may then start the game again.
Ex.:
First student: I’m thinking of a worker.
Second student: Does he operate on sick people?
First student: No, he doesn’t.
Third student: Does he put buildings together?
Fist student: No, he doesn’t.
Fourth student: Does he carry letters?
First student: Yes, he does.
Fourth student: Is he the letter career?
First student: Yes, he is.
