Ход урока
Warming up:
What kind of workers have uniforms? Do you like to wear uniforms? What colour is it? Is it comfortable? Ok, as you have understood today we are going to speak about a school uniform.
I. Ex 34 p.18. Now look at the photos and label the items of clothing the students have on.
II. Ex 35 p.18 Work in pairs and take it in turns to describe the students in the pictures. Let your partner guess which person you described. Use the following vocabulary:
- The picture shows...
- In the picture you can see...
- He/ she has...and... on
- He/ she is wearing...
- He/ she also has...
- The colours are...
- It looks like...
III. Work in pairs and discuss the questions. Make notes of your answers.
- What country did the school uniform originate in?
- Do all countries have national policies about school uniform?
- In what country was a military-style uniform introduced?
- For what reasons was a uniform introduced in some countries?
- Why is the school uniform becoming popular in the USA?
IV. Now listen to the introduction of a show on school uniforms and check your responses.
V. Listen to the recording again and discuss the following questions in pairs. Report your ideas to the class.
- In what country is the approach to the school uniform more reasonable? Why do you think so?
- Why do you think there are so many arguments about school uniforms?
- In your opinion, can a school help to solve discipline problems? Why?/Why not?
