‘Cause I know where I’m going,
And I know when I’m coming back.

A map shows you where you’re going
And a timetable tells you the time
The time of your plane.

MOSCOW

Last summer my family and I spent one day in Moscow. It was unforgettable! Moscow is one of the beautiful cities in the world. The heart of Moscow is Red Square. I was impressed by the red brick walls of the Kremlin. The main Kremlin Tower, the Spasskaya Tower, has become the symbol of the country. The Kremlin Chimes tell us the most exact time.

I visited St. Basil’s Cathedral and the monument to Minin and Pozarsky. And walked along Vasilevsky Descent. Alexander Garden was one of the first urban public parks in Moscow. Near the main entrance there is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We watched the Changing Honour Guard at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

This is the ruined grotto built under the Middle Arsenal Tower. The Middle Arsenal Tower is fantastic! On the roof of “Okhotny Ryad” Shopping Centre there are beautiful fountains. You can see a lot of beautiful fountains at Manezhnaya Square as well. Between Red Square and Manege Square there is another interesting sight, Kilometre Zero. You can throw a coin, turn around and guess a wish.

Thank you, S7. Your story was wonderful! Team “Londoners”, you have one minute to prepare. The rest, let’s do some interactive exercises. You know, in London you will live in English families. We’ve got the Identity Card of one English family you are going to stay with by e-mail, but some sentences have been mixed up. Let’s match. S8, please go to the blackboard.

My parents and I visited the State Historical Museum. There are a lot of ancient artifacts. Everything is like a fairy-tale inside. You can even see a photo album of Prince Yuri Dolgoruky.

Do you know that there was fur money in the XIVth century? The Kazan Cathedral is also worth visiting.

I visited VVC (All-Russian Exhibition centre) and saw a monorail. We spent some hours at the Terrarium. There were different reptiles and insects. Our last museum was the Memorial Museum of Astronautics. I was inside a real spaceship and saw a space study and a space toilet! There were space plants, space food and a space fridge. You can see famous space dogs, Belka and Strelka, there.

The Tower of London is the oldest historical monument. It was a fortress, a royal palace, a prison. Now it is a museum of armor and the place where the Crowns Jewels are kept. There are a lot of ravens there. The legends says that without them England will fall. The Raven Masters are the persons who give them food and take care of them.
