Цели урока:

Образовательные:

• воспитание адекватного отношения к выбору будущей профессии;

Задачи:

• учить читать тексты (в формате ЕГЭ) с извлечением общей информации по теме;
• учить выполнять лексические задания (в формате ЕГЭ) по теме;
• учить извлекать конкретную информацию из аудиотекста;
• учить писать эссе “Ваше мнение” в формате ЕГЭ (Задание С2).

Тип урока: совершенствования знаний, умений и навыков, полученных ранее, и целевого применения усвоенного.

Вид урока:

Урок самостоятельных работ репродуктивного типа с элементами исследования.

Цель – развивающее обучение на основе деятельностно-компетентностного подхода – определила систему методов и приемов на уроке.

Teacher (T) – Good morning! I’m glad to see you and our special guests.

T– Since the 6^th grade we have covered so many topics. Look at the screen: do you remember anything from these lessons?

Students (Ss) recollect one or two things from their previous master-classes.

T – What are we going to speak about today? Watch these two very short videos and try to guess. (The teacher previously records two students: one from the 2^nd grade and one from the 6^th grade speaking about their job preferences).

2^nd Form student (example): “Hello! My name is … . I am eight. I want to be a cook.”

6^th Form student (example): “Hello! My name is … . I am twelve. I would like to be a computer programmer”.

Ss– We are going to speak about work.

T – Right, today we are going to speak about the topic which is of great importance for every school leaver “Work and Future Career”. Let’s travel back into your school years!

T – Look at the screen– these are the dreams of the pupils from the second grade. Did you have any of these when you were seven or eight?

Ss read aloud the jobs and comment on them.

T – Then you became older– these are the ideas of the 12-year-olds from the 6^th grade. Did you share any of them when you were their age?

Ss read aloud the jobs and comment on them.

T – Finally, what are your career prospects now?

Ss read aloud the jobs and comment on them.

T – We live in a fast-moving world where everything changes so fast. Watch this video and tell what its main idea is.

Ss comment on the video.

T – Very soon you will have to write an essay at your unified state exam. It is very likely that the topic is connected to the future plans. It seems sensible to practise it once again.

T – I have chosen one aspect of the world of work, i.e. “Work from home” and the exact topic of the essay is “Many people think that the best way to work is from home”.

The teacher revises the layout of the essay with the screen and then gives the handouts with the spare spaces for every paragraph.

T – It is logical to start with the introduction. Here is a familiar task to you – fill in the gaps with the suitable words and later we will take some ideas from it.

Ss do the task, S1 writes the words on the blackboard.

Then Ss exchange their papers, compare and check the answers with the screen.

T – Now find some sentences or word combinations that you may use in your essays.

Ss write them down into their handouts. S1 & S2 share with the class.

T – To make your essays more vivid you may use some examples. Read these short stories and find the correct headings for them.

Ss do the task individually, then compare and check with the screen.

T – Now we are going to find out different opinions about this issue and you will decide if you are for or against work from home or telecommuting as it is sometimes called. Use your imagination, logic and common sense to predict any arguments FOR this opportunity.
