Цель: восприятие и первичное осознание нового материала.

Тип урока: изучение и первичное закрепление новых знаний.

Планируемые результаты:

  • Личностные: формирование коммуникативной компетентности в общении и сотрудничестве со сверстниками в  процессе образовательной деятельности;
  • Метапредметные: самостоятельная постановка новых учебных задач на основе развития познавательных мотивов и интересов, умение осуществлять контроль своей деятельности, умение организовать учебное сотрудничество и совместную деятельность с учителем и сверстниками, умение осознанно использовать речевые средства в соответствии с задачей коммуникации;
  • Предметные: применять изученные грамматические правила в процессе общения в устной и письменной формах: построение вопросительной формы речевого оборота «There is\are», активизация лексического материала по теме «Enjoying your Home».

Оборудование: медиа проектор, интерактивная доска, ноутбук.

Средства наглядности: флешкарты, раздаточный материал, книга для учащихся – Английский с удовольствием – Enjoy English, для 4 класса, М.З. Биболетова, изд-во Титул, 2010, презентация РР, реалия.

Stage 1 (7 min.)

Warmer

To generate interest in the topic. Ss catch a ball and say a word on the topic “The house”. S1 – S2 – S3…

T. says a word, Ss make up a sentence using the grammatical structure “there is/are”.
Stage 2  (8 min.)

Presentation

To introduce the grammatical structure “there is/are” in the interrogative form. T.: Are you curious? Do you want to know about Simon’s room?

Ex. 13, p. 24.

Is there a piano in your house?
Yes, there is. No, there isn’t.
There is a piano in the house.
Are there chairs in the room?
Yes, there are. No, there aren’t. There are no chairs in the room.

T. сlarifies the function, gives models and drills chorally and individually.

Stage 3 (15 min.)

 To provide Ss with controlled practice of target structure.
  • Task 1. Ss work in pairs: match the questions and the answers.
  • Task 2. Ss work in pairs: Put words in the correct order to make a question.
  • Task3. Ss work individually: make interrogative sentences out of positive.

Ss check in closed pairs. Compare with a slide.
The teacher monitors learners to check that they have no problems.

Stage 4 (12 min.)

Feedback

 To provide Ss with freer practice in target language; Ss  look at the picture. Try to remember the furniture in the room.
Ss ask questions in groups. Write them.
A class mingling game. Ss read questions and answer them: S1 – S2, S3 – S4…

The teacher monitors learners and gives  feedback on the target language.
T. gives praise on language used.
Stage 5 (3 min.)

Set homework
Feedback

 To provide an opportunity for learners to practice target language.

To express emotions after the lesson, to evaluate S’s work

 Students choose homework:
  • ask questions about Tiny’s house in written form Ex. 16,p.24
  • Write a letter to your pen friend and ask about his\her room.
  • You are in a hotel. Ask questions about the room you will live in.
