Учебник: «English»для 6 класса школ с углубленным изучением английского языка, авторы О. В. Афанасьева, И. В. Михеева.

Цели:

  • Образовательная: развитие речевых навыков  учащихся по теме «Экология».
  • Развивающая: развитие способности к догадке, коммуникабельности, способности работать в команде.
  • Воспитательная: воспитание бережного отношения к окружающей среде, воспитание правильного поведения по отношению к объектам живой природы.

Задачи: введение лексики по теме, развитие навыков говорения, развитие навыков чтения с извлечением необходимой информации.

ХОД УРОКА.

T. Good morning, my dear pupils. I hope everyone is OK today, so let’s begin our lesson.
Today we’ll talk about ecology. (Презентация, слайд № 1) To begin with, I want you to read and discuss the statement by Franklin D Roosevelt, American president “A nation that destroys its soil destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our lands, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people. (Слайд №2) So, It’s a high time to realize that it is a small world we live in. The protection of the environment against pollution is a question of survival on the planet.
Therefore, our lesson’s objectives are to discuss ecological problems and to find the ways of solving these problems.

Now I want you to look at the screen. There you see lesson vocabulary. Let’s read and translate them one by one. (Слайд № 2). (Pupils are reading and translating new words).

T. Nowadays people understand how important it is to solve the environmental problems that endanger people’s lives. The most serious environmental problems are:

1. Water pollution/ air pollution/ nuclear pollution;
2. Noises from cars, buses, planes;
3. The growth of population;
4. The shortage of natural resources;
5. The destruction of wild life and the beauty of the countryside;
6. The greenhouse effect.

Look at the pictures and say what problem is shown in them. Afterwards, check your answers in pairs. (Слайды № 4-8)

T. Now, find the text “This Fragile Planet” on page 58. Each of you will be given only part of a text and you will need to tell other students the main idea of your part of the text, so that in the end each of you will have all the information from the text. (Jigsaw reading, teacher gives 10 minutes for this task)

T. Well done! I want to check your understanding of some topic words. Read the definitions and 
name the words. (Слайд № 9)

T. Hey, you are doing your best! Well done! We identified some serious ecological problems. As we know, each problem is supposed to have its solution. Now, I put you into four groups. Each group should find solutions to ecological problems. Here are key words on the screen to help you. (Слайд № 10)

T. Well, pupils, today we’ve talked about ecological problems. You see, our wonderful Earth is in danger. We should understand that our environment is not just our town or country, but the whole earth. That’s why we should save our unique Nature! (Слайды № 11-24)
