Цели и задачи:

обучающие:

  • расширение лексического запаса учащихся;
  • обучение говорению и аудированию с извлечением общей информации   по теме;
  • употребление неопределенных местоимений some и any с исчисляемыми и неисчисляемыми существительными в устной и письменной речи.

воспитывающие:

  • развитие интереса к стране изучаемого языка;
  • повышение мотивации к изучению иностранного языка;
  • формирование культуры питания.

развивающие:

  • развитие способностей к общению;
  • развитие умения работать в паре;
  • активизация внимания детей на мероприятии, сплочение коллектива.

Оборудование и материалы:

  • Учебник “New Millennium English-5” ;
  • Раздаточный материал;
  • Презентация, выполненная в Power Point;
  • Интерактивная доска.

Ход урока

Warm up

T: Hello children. I’m very glad to see you. You may sit down. Boys and girls, did you have breakfast in the morning? What did you have for breakfast? What do you usually have for breakfast?

Possible answers: Yes, I did/No, I didn’t. I had corn flakes with milk/porridge/tea/sandwiches etc.

Listening (ex. 1a, 1b p. 52) (Slide 1)

While listening activities

T: Children you will listen to Jane and Max talking about what food they like. Listen very attentively and answer the question: What does Jane like and What does Max like to eat?

TEXT FOR LISTENING

Answer key: (slide 2)

Jane likes oranges, apple juice and ice cream

Max likes bananas and ice cream

Post listening activities

T: Boys and girls and what food do you like to eat?

Pp: I like ice cream, bananas, salmon etc.

New vocabulary (ex.2 p.52) (slide 3)

T: Children what is this?

P: It’s a menu.

T: You can see some highlighted words in this menu. Please repeat them after me. And then you will come to the blackboard and match all the words with the pictures. (slide 4)

T: And now let’s go to the café. Here is the menu of our café. Look at it and tell me what’s the name of the café and who is this café for? (slide 5)

P1: The café is called Tutti-Frutti

P2: This café is for children.

T: What can you eat in this café?

P: You can eat tomato and cucumber salad/salmon and rice, carrots and mushrooms etc

T: what can you drink in this café?

P: You can drink juice, tea or lemonade.

T: All right children. Everything is fine. And now tell which of these food items are vegetables, fruit or meat. Use the prompts. (slide 6)

T: Children tell me why do the words bananas, peas, mushrooms in the menu end in -s?

P: There are many of them

T: Can you count tomatoes, potatoes, apples?

Pp: Yes, we can.

T: Can you count salmon, rice, ice cream?

Pp: No, we can’t.

T: The nouns that we can count are called countable nouns and nouns that we cannot count are called uncountable nouns. Here you can see some food items. Will you come to the blackboard and fill in the table with countable and uncountable nouns. (slide 7)

Reading

While reading activities

T: Now children we will read the text. While reading pay attention to the words some and any in the text. Then answer questions after the text.

Pupils read the text and translate the sentences with some and any and pay attention to the types of sentences (positive/negative) and then answer the questions after the text.

Post reading activities (slide 13-15)

Then pupils say what they need and don’t need to cook different dishes from the pictures on the blackboard.

P: To cook this dish you need some cheese, some tomatoes etc. you don’t need any salmon etc.

Speaking (ex. 5 p.53) (slide 16)

Pupils get some prompts and after reading the sample of the dialogue come to the blackboard in pairs and make up their own dialogues according to the sample.

P1: let’s see what we’ve got for the party. We’ve got some cheese and some tomatoes.

P2: but we haven’t got any oranges or juice. Let’s go and buy some.
