Цель урока: формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащихся.
Задачи:
- актуализация лексики по теме “литературные жанры”;
- совершенствовать коммуникативные умения в основных видах речевой деятельности
- формировать информационную компетенцию учащихся о знаменитых писателях и их персонажах;
- стимулировать интерес учащихся к зарубежной литературе и к чтению книг.

Ход урока
1. Warmer.
- Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you! Take your seats, please!
- What do you do in your free time? What are your free time activities?

- Do you like reading?

- It’s good that you like to read books because today we’ll speak about books, the famous authors and their characters. Open your books at page16.

4. Listening for gist.

5. Reading for specific information.
- Let’s read the text about these famous authors and characters and write down the main information of them! Work in pairs. (Students are divided into 3 groups and each group reads its own part of the text.) You have 5-7 minutes. (Слайд 7)

6. Focusing on the vocabulary (adjectives).
- Read the text ones more and match the underlined adjectives to their synonyms. (Слайд 13). Work in pairs.
- Let’s check the answers with the class. Do you know the meaning of all the words? (teacher explain the meaning of unknown words). (Слайд 14)

- Well done! Now use the adjectives to describe the fictional characters. Work in groups. Then we check which group could make up more sentences.
