Обучающие цели:

а) совершенствование коммуникативных умений;

б) увеличение объема знаний по теме;

в) увеличение объема используемых лексических единиц.

Развивающие цели:

а) развитие навыков аудирования, диалогической речи и монологического высказывания по теме;

б) развитие лексических и грамматических навыков.

Воспитательные цели:

а) воспитание нравственности, трудолюбия, культуры общения в коллективной деятельности;

б) развивать у учащихся самостоятельность мышления;

в) содействовать профориентации учащихся.

Оборудование: учебник и тетрадь, СD диск, компьютер, раздаточный материал по теме.

ХОД УРОКА

1 этап: Приветствие, постановка задач и объяснение темы.

T: Hello, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. How are you? I’m sure that you are full of energy and ready to do our lesson interesting and rich. The theme of our lesson is: “Choosing a career. Your future”. We are going to discuss choosing your future professions. At the previous lessons we spoke about different jobs, we wrote a good CV, we read some adverts from the newspapers given in our books and workbooks and discussed some texts about different jobs and personal qualities each job requires. We have learnt many new words.

2 этап: Развитие лексических навыков. Увеличение объема используемых лексических единиц.

Now listen and repeat the words after me:

To enter a university, to make up one’s mind, to take up a profession, to change one’s mind, to persuade, to dissuade, to attract, a vocational school, unemployment, lack of jobs, a dole, are wanted/needed, to get a high education, creativity, ambition, numeracy and literacy, a sharp mind, teamwork skills, leadership, confidence.

3 этап: Развитие навыков аудирования.

Let’s listen to the psychologist advice how to look and feel confident.

You should listen and tick the advice you’ve heard from the psychologist.

Here are your cards with phrases.

 4 этап: Развитие навыков диалогической речи.

And now we are going to hold an interview. You are divided into two groups: one applicant and others the members of interviewing board.

Role card 1: Interviewing board

You manage the local office of the international law firm. You are looking for a receptionist who will become a member of the team. A competitive salary is offered (up to $500) plus a number perks (flexible working hours-convenient for students, free medical care for staff, annual bonuses).

- Decide what you should ask the applicant about, what kind of person you are interested in, what qualities the applicant should have.

- Think of your questions

- Be polite and friendly.

Role card 2: Applicant

This will be your first job and you feel enthusiastic. You have prepared well for the interview and have sent a letter of application and a CV. You feel this position is interesting for you, you will get some experience and opportunities for professional development.

- Decide what qualities a successful applicant should have.

- Think how you can show that you have these qualities.

- Be polite and confident.

- Think about your body language.

5 этап: Развитие навыков монологической речи. Контроль домашнего задания.

P1: There are different kinds of jobs in the world. It’s so difficult to choose your future profession. But I think I have chosen it. I’d like to be a lawyer. It requires being confident, intelligent, hard-working.

6 этап: Подведение итогов.

We’ll talk about our results. What have we done today? We have known and used many new words. We have listened and discussed our interesting theme. Thank you for your work. Your marks are ... . Your home task for the next lesson is to write an essay “My future profession”.
