В нашей гимназии № 1599 есть богатый опыт участия во всевозможных конкурсах. Мы являемся постоянными участниками таких конкурсов, как “Summer reads” издательства Макмиллан, “Юные таланты Московии”, “Шекспировский фестиваль.
Участие в этих конкурсах позволяет нам усилить мотивацию детей к изучению языка, создать каждому ребенку ситуацию успеха и максимально сочетать потенциал учебной и внеучебной деятельности по иностранным языкам.
В данной статье мы представляем проект по книге для чтения из серии “English explorers”, занявший первое место на конкурсе компании Макмиллан “Character Artist”. Выступление ученика 4 класса нашей гимназии сопровождалось компьютерной презентацией. В конце была исполнена песня на английском языке, которая была разучена на занятиях хора на английском языке (учитель Гаврилова Л.В.)

Project about Macmillan books
Hello, everyone!
Have you read “A Fishy Business” book by Sue Graves of Macmillan English explorers series ?
I have come out of the book. My name is Jack and fishing is my hobby. My Ancle Ted gave me a fishing rod on my birthday. Look, it feels so smooth! And he gave my sister Mary a landing net to net and pull out the fish which is a very important job! I also need bait: Look , it`s like an insect!
It all began on the first of May which is the start of the trout season in England. Our Uncle Ted, Mary and I went fishing in the stream which was known to be very rich in trout.
But do you know what? We didn`t catch any fish! And another day wasn`t any success either.
Mary and I noticed an old pump house which used to pump water from the stream to a nearby canal. But then Sid Scrub and his brother started a dyeing business and began polluting the stream: they cleaned out the dye from the barrels and tipped the waste into the water. And Mary and I saw lots of dead fish trapped behind the grid underneath the old building. Then Uncle Ted took us on a night watch, and we witnessed the crime: at midnight Sid Scrub and his brother opened up the hatch, swirled some liquid round in a barrel and tipped it into the stream below .
We made a poster inviting everyone to the meeting in the village hall. But nobody believed us because the workers had never seen any waste tipped into the stream.
Then I had a brilliant idea: on another night watch. I took my mobile phone, turned it on and pressed the video button, and the mobile phone recorded everything that was happening.
After that the village people made a nature reserve in this place and they all found jobs there.
Now everyone can enjoy the beauty of the wood and the stream, the birds and the animals here.
(Stars fishing and sings:
Over in the meadow, in the sand and the sun
Lived an old mother toad and her little toadie one.
“Wink!” said the mother “I wink” said the one
So they winked and the blinked in the sand and the sun.
Over in the the meadow, where the stream runs blue
Lived an old mother fish and her little fish – two
“Swim!” said the mother “We swim” said the two
So they swam and they leaped where the stream runs blue
Over in the meadow, in a hole in a tree,
Lived an old mother bluebird and her little birdies three.
“Sing!” said the mother “We sing!” said the three
So they sang and were glad in a hole in the tree.
