Цель урока: систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся по теме "Great Britain. London".

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

  • обобщение лексического материала по теме "Great Britain. London";
  • cспособствование формированию коммуникативной компетенции учащихся по теме «Достопримечательности Лондона»;
  • совершенствование навыков аудирования, чтения и письма по теме.

Развивающие:

  • развитие памяти, внимания и мышления;
  • развитие умения обобщать и делать выводы.

Воспитательные:

  • воспитание умения работать в сотрудничестве;
  • воспитание интернационализма и содействие развитию мыслительных процессов у учащихся.

Социокультурные:

  • расширение знаний о культуре страны изучаемого языка.

Оборудование: компьютер, интерактивная доска, презентация видов Лондона, кроссворд по теме урока, тесты на карточках разного цвета (использование хромотерапии), магнитофон, CD MP3, карта Соединенного королевства, конверты с заданиями.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

Good morning dear boys and a girl. Good morning our guests. We are very glad to see you today at our lesson. Sit down children.

Today we have a very interesting lesson. Please, answer the question. What language do you study? Yes, of course, we study English. It is interesting to have a talk about different countries and their traditions. Today we will speak about Great Britain and about sightseeing of London. You will listen to the text, answer the questions, and describe the pictures. You will have a test. And, of course, we will play. It's time to begin our lesson. Are you ready to start it?

(The Houses of Parliament or Westminster Palace is in London near Trafalgar Square. The British government is there. The Palace has over one thousand rooms, a hundred staircases and 2 miles of corridors. The Clock Tower "Big Ben" was built in 1859. The Tower is 3 hundred and 18 feet high. It weighs 13, 5 tons. You have to go up 3 hundred and 74 steps to reach the top of the Tower.)

This is the main square in London. Please tell us about it. Trafalgar Square (Слайд 4) is in the West part of London. You can see a statue of Admiral Nelson. He had to fight the French at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The height of the monument is 1 hundred and 84 feet. 4 bronze lions are at the foot of the statue. They symbolize 4 parts of the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Trafalgar Square is the place where demonstrations are held.

The next our sight is the oldest building in London. Tell us what you know about the Tower of London. (Слайд 5)

(The Tower of London is one of the oldest buildings in London. It was founded in the 11th century. The Tower was a fortress, a castle, a prison and a King's zoo. Now it is a museum. The Tower of London consists of 13 towers. You can see Beefeaters there. They are the royal guards. The symbol of Tower is ravens.)

It has a police station, 2 post offices, a hospital, 2 sports clubs, a cinema and a swimming pool. There are 6 hundred rooms and 3 miles of red carpet in the Palace. When the Queen is in Buckingham, the flag is flying over the Palace. Every day at 11.30 a.m. you can see the beautiful ceremony of the changing of the Guards.
