Цель: способствовать повышению мотивации учащихся в изучении английского языка, развитию их кругозора и толерантности, распространению здорового образа жизни.
Задачи:
- Развивающие – развить интеллектуальные и творческие способности учащихся.
- Обучающие – дать новую информацию по теме Олимпийские игры, научить сравнивать, практиковать использование лексических единиц по теме.
- Воспитывающие – воспитать уважительное отношение к спорту, заслугам выдающихся спортсменов, воспитывать умение работать в группе и принимать единое решение.
Оснащение: презентация по теме, стенгазета “Олимпиада в Лондоне” на английском языке, раздаточный материал, призы (медали, закладки).
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент.
Good morning, dear boys and girls! We welcome you on our unusual lesson! Today we speak about Olympic Games in London. Last summer we could watch that main sport event on TV, couldn’t we? Who watched Olympic Games? Did your mother or father watch some sport competitions? What sports did you like more? What champions did you like best of all? (ответы детей)
I see you are real sport fans!
Let’s read and learn some words on the theme in English:
Olympic Games, Olympic flag, Olympic flame, Opening/Closing ceremony, mascots, champions, medals (gold, silver, bronze), Swifter, higher, stronger!

We have young sportsmen in our school, too. Welcome our young gymnast Arina with her acrobatic tricks. (выступление ученицы 4 класса с булавами, скакалкой и мячом)

Let’s start our competition! We have two teams. Today we’ll see who the best is. Are you ready?
The first task is to choose a captain and name the team.
Well, we have “Champions” and “Sportsmen”
Let’s start! The next task is “Olympic rings”. You must paint five rings of the Olympic flag. Do you remember what colour they are? (рис. 1)
Our Jury (the students of the 8th grade) will help me to check your answers. They are strict but fair.
The next task is “Weather Forecast”. We know London weather is very changeable. You can help our sportsmen to dress well. Write a weather forecast for them! (рис. 2)
The next task is “Word Search” Do you know sports well? Find kinds of sports in the word search! (рис. 3)
The next task is for our captains. It is called “Step by Step”. You should make up a menu for our sportsmen. Say a word for each step! Who goes farther?
Captain 1: vegetables,
Captain 2: milk,
Captain 1: juice,
Captain 2: porridge and so on.
The last task is “Actions”. Our captains should train their teams. They say commands and their teams show actions. For example, “to swim” (показывает руками движения пловца)
Командиры отдают команды, члены команды выполняют действия. Оценивается правильность и дружность.
Our Jury must counts points and we play with our fans. Answer my questions:
What sports can we do in summer/winter?
What sports can we do in any weather?
What is your favourite sport?
3. Итог.

4. Домашнее задание.
Нарисовать открытку по теме Олимпийские игры в Лондоне, придумать спортивный лозунг, подписать по-английски.
