Языковой и речевой материал: повторение лексического материала по теме “Royal London”, обобщение по этой же теме, дискуссия.

Т.С.О.: компьютер (т.к. урок проводится в компьютерном классе, каждый учащийся имеет возможность сидеть и работать с персональным компьютером)

I. Организационный момент:
1) Приветствие
2) Речевая зарядка (на основе изученного материала)
II. Основной этап:
1) Повторение ранее изученного материала
2) Введение нового лексического материала при работе с текстами
3) Закрепление лексических и страноведческих знаний в ролевой игре.
III. Заключительный этап:
1) Подведение итогов и домашнее задание.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент.
T.: Good morning, boys and girls. Glad to see you. Today we are going to discuss the problem:”British political system as an example of the monarchy in the world. Is it necessary or not?” (тема написана на доске)
T.: Instead of books, blackboard and other equipments we’re going to use a computer. Now look at the first picture, here is the map of the UK? Let’ speak about its geographical position. Where is the UK situated?
P.:.....
T.: What are the main parts of it? And what are their capitals?
P.:
T.: Children? Do you know the symbols of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland?

T.: You can see that country is ruled by three branches: the parliament, the government and the head of the state. What branch does the legislative power belong to?

T.: Thank you for your work, we know, that the head of the state is the Queen. Let’s organize our discussion about the Queen. Press the button and you will see the text about the queen. Read it and prepare for the discussion. You have 5 min.
Imagine yourselves, that you are citizens of Great Britain. What do you think about the Queen?
Pupil 1 will be private Secretary, he will tell us about queen’s working day
Pupil 2 will be Prince Philipp, he will tell us about positive moments of being queen.
Pupil 3 will be Prince Charles, he is sure there’re many negative features of being the Queen.
Pupils 4, 5 will be citizens and tell us the attitude of the population to British queen.
Pupil 6 will be the Queen, she will express her opinion. Is it really a busy job or not?
Pupils discuss the problems according to their roles.

Children, give me your sheets of paper. During our lesson we were talking about geographical position and political system, learnt new words, read the text about the queen, discussed it. It is for you to decide: Is monarchy necessary or not? Write your composition at home, it is your home task for the next lesson.
