Тема урока №1: In the World of Future Tenses
Цель урока: Совершенствовать грамматические навыки учащихся (Future Tenses)
Задачи урока:
- Образовательная: Активизировать употребление Future Tenses в устной и письменной речи учащихся
- Развивающая: Развивать творческий потенциал учащихся

To introduce the topic and revise the previous lessons | Ask Ss to choose a card and stick it on the appropriate place on the board so as to complete the table of Future Tenses. (Provide the example first.) (Приложение 1) |
2. Speaking 13 min Pair work S - Class |
To practise the Future Tenses in the context of speaking about Ss’ plans | Ask Ss to look at the table they have made on the board and to share
their future plans with their partners using different Future Tenses. The teacher provides the example first. Ask ICQs if necessary. Monitor while Ss are speaking. Ask Ss to tell the class the most interesting/unbelievable/unreal thing they have learnt about their partners. React to Ss’ sentences showing interest. |
3. Writing 15 min S - S |
To practise Ss’ writing skills | Explain the activity. Ask Ss look at a paper sheet divided into several
sections. Make it clear each St should write his/her answers in one section. After that St
folds the paper as shown and passes it to his partner clockwise. (The partner must not see
the written sentence). Ss do the same till the final section is completed. (Приложение № 2) - Ask ICQs (Instruction checking questions) to check the understanding: - Are you going to write the whole story at once? (No) - How many sentences are you going to write in every section? (One) - What are you going to do as soon as you finish writing the sentence? (To pass the paper to my partner) - To the partner sitting to the right or to the left of you? (to the left) Monitor while Ss are writing. Try to make Ss pass their paper sheets to each other at the same time. |
4. Speaking 10 min St - Ss |
To practise the Future Tenses in the context of the written stories | Then each St reads the story he/she is having to himself/herself. Ask Ss to retell the most amazing story/ the most unbelievable/ the story which made them laugh/cry, etc. Ask Ss to read the sentences in - Future Simple - Future Continuous - Future Perfect - Future Perfect Continuous |
To develop speaking skills | Ask other Ss to retell their stories and give them the title/ explain if the things described in the story will happen or not in the future. |
Тема урока №2: What a question! (Subjunctive Mood)
Цель урока: Совершенствовать грамматические навыки учащихся
Задачи урока:
- Образовательная: Формировать коммуникативные компетенции учащихся, используя правила образования и употребления сослагательного наклонения
- Воспитательная: Формировать умение принимать правильное решение в жизни
- Развивающая:
- Развивать навыки взаимодействия в групповой работе;
- Формировать умение предоставить аргументированный ответ

To introduce the topic | Ask Ss to choose the cards. Each Student takes one card) with the parts
of a sentence they are going to build. Ask Ss to present the sentence by standing in a
line and holding the word given. The 2-3 Ss who have not been given the cards are to play
the role of the experts saying if the sentence order is correct or not and finally answer
the question which was formed. Ask ICQs to check the understanding before the Ss star the activity: - How many cards can each of you choose? (one) - What is written in the card? (a word) - What should you do with your word? (to find its place in a sentence) - How should you stand? (in a line presenting my word) (The question the Ss have at the end of the activity is “What would you do if you had one million dollars?”) Ask Ss about the Grammar rule of forming Subjunctive mood. (main clause Would + V1; If clause V2) Ask everybody to answer the question and choose the best (only one) way of spending the money. Ask Ss to give reasons. |
2. Speaking Group work 20 min |
To develop Ss’ speaking skills using Subjunctive Mood | Divide Ss into groups of four. Ask Ss to play the Grammar Game “What a question!” (Приложение №3) S1 takes the card from a pile of cards with questions face down, reads the question aloud and asks St2 to answer the question. The St2 takes the card and asks St3 a question, etc. Each St is to answer 5 questions. Ask ICQs (Instruction checking questions) to check Ss’ understanding before the Ss start the activity. - Are you going to work alone or in a group? (in a group) - Student 1 in each group, raise your hands! What are you going to do? (To read the question that is written on the card) - Student 2 in each group, raise your hands! When are you allowed to read the question? (After providing the answers to the question of Student 1), etc. (Monitor while Ss are answering the questions.) |
3. Speaking St1 – Class 13 min |
To develop Ss’ speaking skills and analyzing abilities | After the end of the activity ask Ss to remember the funniest answers (extraordinary, unpredictable, the answer which has revealed some traits of the peers the Ss did not know about, etc). and share them with the class. |
