I. Организационный момент
(T1, T2) Hello, children! Hello, guests!
Today we are going to speak about one of the greatest English writers and dramatists – William Shakespeare. His surviving works consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems.
His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
II.
In the year of 1564 the greatest writer used to be.
He wrote sonnets, songs and playsAnd he was born to be in love. His name was William, Will Shakespeare.
So, well, my friends, we thus begin.
– When first we met we didn’t guess. That love would prove so hard a master.
And more then common friendliness, when first we met we didn’t guess.
Oh, Will, my darling, I’m glad to see you smiling.
I’ve come to change your live up to the end.
Oh, come to me, my sweetest friend. Oh, let me kiss you,
You won’t miss her.
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, and summer’s lease hath all too
short a date.
1: Shakespeare came to London in 1592. He was an actor of a London theater. (слайд 2 – театр Globe)
In 1599 the famous Globe Theatre was built on the south bank of the river Thames. It was a round building with the stage in the centre, open to the sky. If it was raining, the actors and the public got wet; if the weather was too bad, there was no performance at all. There Shakespeare became an actor, a poet and a playwright.[1]
2: Shakespeare and his fellow actors were responsible for everything in the Globe theatre. They owned the building and the costumes, they wrote the scripts and they also shared the profits that they made. The actors and writers of the theatre worked together successfully for many years. Queen Elizabeth loved that theatre very much.[1]
For me my country is important. I’m virgin queen, but only for men…
My England is my friend, my husband and my lover,
I gave my heart, my soul, love for it. And if it needs my life, I’ll give it.
I’ve been, I am and always will be faithful to my England.
New actors are wanted! “Globe “is looking for new actors! (слайд 4)
(Дети в костюмах по двое подходят к королеве и читают сонеты.(Один на английском языке, другой на русском языке)( Королева и Шекспир выбирают)
Ведущий 1 – Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were mainly comedies and histories. He then wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language. In his last phase, he wrote tragicomedies also known as romances, and collaborated with other playwrights. [1]
ROMEO
If I profane with my unworthiest hand
This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this:
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with a gentle kiss.
JULIET
Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.
ROMEO
Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?
JULIET
Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.
ROMEO
O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do;
They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.
JULIET
Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake.
ROMEO
Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take.
Thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purged.
JULIET
Then have my lips the sin that they have took.
ROMEO
Sin from thy lips? O trespass sweetly urged!
Give me my sin again.
Have you prayed, my darling, yet?
Oh, yes, my Lord. But why? What’s wrong with you? Why are you so pale?
You have deceived me. Now you must die.
What for? I love you so much. I didn’t bring you any harm, believe me.
I wish I could believe.
No, you must die.
I took your life with my long kiss good-night. And falling with a kiss I die…
OBERON [3]
Having once this juice,
I'll watch Titania when she is asleep,
And drop the liquor of it in her eyes.
The next thing then she waking looks upon,
Be it on lion, bear, or wolf, or bull,
She shall pursue it with the soul of love.
PUCK
Fear not, my lord, your servant shall do so.
What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?
Out of this wood do not desire to go:
Thou shalt remain here, whether thou wilt or no. I love
you!
I wonder if Titania be
awaked;
Then, what it was that next came in her eye,
Which she must dote on in extremity.
PUCK – If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
William Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616, and was buried two days later in the chancel of Holy Trinity Church where he had been baptized exactly 52 years earlier. The bronze statue of Shakespeare was presented to Stratford by Lord Ronald Suttherland Gower in 1888. Shakespeare's figure is high above the ground and there are small figures of some Shakespeare's famous characters on the ground around it.
(Группа девочек исполняет песню “What is a youth” на английском языке)
2. In England and other countries it is the highest honour for an actor to be invited to play in a comedy or a tragedy by Shakespeare. In the last 35 years all the plays by W. Shakespeare have been filmed. Since 1879 Shakespeare's Festival has been held every year at Stratford-upon-Avon.
Thank you for your attention!
