The Beatles.
The Beatles are known to be the most popular group in the world. It released 13 LP discs and singles and shot 10 films. The group was organized in Liverpool in 1959. The Beatles were: Paul McCartney – bass guitar, John Lennon – leader guitar, George Harrison – rhythm guitar and Ringo Starr – drums.
Paul and John composed music and wrote poems. At the beginning they were fond
of playing rock'n'roll. They happened visit Hamburg in 1961. The group had a
great success there. Having returned to England they became famous. In 1964 the
term "Bitlomania" appeared. The Beatles could not help visiting the USA, the
Mecca of music and they conquered America in 1964. The Beatles visited more than
20 countries and everywhere they were followed by groupies. In 1966 they stopped
their tours and began to work in the studio. In 1967 they stopped released their
album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
This album is considered to be the best one in the history of rock music. In
1970 the members of the group gave up playing together. They were busy making
their own projects.
The Beatles are supposed to be the richest performers in the world. They were
believed to join together some day. But on the 8th of December in
1980 John Lennon was shot to death in New York City. He was only 40 years old.
