Цели урока:
Обучающая:
- формировать знания на уровнях: восприятие - осмысление - применение;
- совершенствовать речевые навыки: умение вести беседу по проблеме в парах, умение понимать на слух высказывания по теме, умение найти информацию в прочитанном тексте;
Развивающая:
- формировать интерес к предмету;
- формировать мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению английского языка;
- учить анализировать, выделять главное, сравнивать, строить аналогии, обобщать и систематизировать;
Воспитывающая:
- воспитывать культуру общения на английском языке;
- прививать любовь и уважение к культурному наследию, традициям и народу страны изучаемого языка;
- научить учащихся устанавливать дружеские отношения со сверстниками из англоговорящих стран.

I. Начало урока.
1. Приветствие.
Teacher: Good morning, dear friends!
Cl: Good morning, our teacher!
Teacher: I'm glad to meet you. How are you?
Cl: We are fine, thank you. And how are you?
Teacher: I'm worried a bit, but in general I'm fine too. As a rule we have our English lesson on
Wednesday's. Today we have an unusual lesson: some guests are present at our lesson.
Greet them, please.
Cl: Good morning, dear guests! We are glad to meet you.
Teacher: Sit down, please.
At the last lesson we began the new Unit. It is called "Schools". The theme of our lesson is "British school". To study more about British school we are:
- to learn English words;
- to listen and read the dialogue about types of school;
- to revise the grammar ( using the adjectives in the meaning of the nouns);
- to make up own mini-dialogues;
- fill in the word map table.
And also there will be a pleasant surprise for you during the lesson: two girls from Great Britain are going to visit us and talk to you.

Teacher: And now, as usual we start on the conversation with the pupil on duty. We'll speak about the weather both in Russian and in England. To speak about the weather in England we'll use the Internet. P1, do it and say me when you will be ready. About the weather in Russian we'll speak to pupil on duty.

P: I'm on duty today.
Teacher: Class, ask some questions about the date and the weather.

G: Yes, there are different types of schools in England. There are state schools, public schools, boarding schools and others.
P2: Are there schools only for boys and only for girls?
G: Yes, there are some schools only for boys and only for girls.
P3: Are English public schools for everybody?
G: English public schools are not for everybody, they are the most expensive schools for the rich.
P4: What does a scholarship means?
G: Pupils get scholarships in public schools. That means they don't have to pay to go there.

All pupils open your books at page 113. The exceptions are P1 and P2. They listen to the dialog without books.
Teacher: Who is ready to answer the question?
P:Misha has to pack his things because he and his friends are going to school tomorrow. The school is fare away from his house. It's a boarding school.

Teacher: Using the information from the dialogue and the expressions from "When in Rome :" make up mini-dialogues. The words in brackets will help you. Ex.9.p115. I give you only 3 minutes because we are pressed for time.
A: In general, English children go to state school.
B: But what about public school? A lot of English children go there.
A: As a rule, public schools are very expensive.
B: The exception is Rob's school. It is not as expensive as Eton.
A: In general, English children come home after school every day.
B: But what about boarding schools? Boarding school means that students live there.
Teacher: Well done!
