Задачи урока:
- Обучающие:
- организовать повторение лексического и страноведческого материала по ранее изученным темам.
- учить учащихся правильно строить предложения на английском языке, организовать практику устной речи на английском языке.
- познакомить учащихся с некоторыми традициями и обычаями празднования Рождества в Великобритании.
- способствовать формированию у учащихся навыков социолингвистической и лингвострановедческой компетенций.
- Развивающие:
- развивать творческую фантазию, познавательный интерес, инициативу в осуществлении иноязычной речевой деятельности.
- Воспитательные:
- воспитывать у учащихся чувство прекрасного и уважение к культуре и традициям других народов.
- воспитывать чувство взаимной ответственности, прививать навыки работы в коллективе.
Оборудование: мультимедийная презентация; заготовки рождественских открыток; карточки с заданиями, карточки со словами-опорами, общее панно «рождественская ель», аудиозапись песни «Jingle Bells» и «We Wish You A Merry Christmas», маленькие ёлочки, рождественские украшения.

– We will speak about one of the most important English holiday. You need the knowledge that you have got at your English lessons. Сегодня мы будем говорить об одном из самых любимых и самых важных английских праздников. Для этого, ребята, вам пригодятся все те знания, которые вы получили на уроках английского языка.
T: Well, Let’s start. I want you to close your eyes and listen to a short poem.

P3: I think Christmas is a family holiday. Families gather for traditional Christmas dinner. They exchange presents and congratulate each other. Рождество – семейный праздник. Семьи собираются за традиционным рождественским обедом. Они обмениваются подарками и поздравляют друг друга.
P4: People decorate Christmas tree and their houses; send Christmas cards to their relatives and friends. Люди наряжают ёлку и украшают свои дома, отправляют открытки своим родственникам и друзьям.
T: On Christmas children have a lot of fun. They like to play and sing. Listen to the Christmas song and sing it all together. I think you know it very well. You may look in the text.

4. Christmas Day is on the 25th of December. It is the greatest holiday in Britain. On Christmas Eve on the 24th of December English people decorate a Christmas tree. Christmas is a family holiday. They celebrate this holiday with big dinners. Children play around Christmas trees, find presents in their Christmas stockings, eat Christmas pudding.
5. Many years ago postmen had bright red coats. They looked like robins. On Christmas they brought many Christmas cards. And people began to think about a robin as a Christmas bird.
6. Every English family sends and receives many Christmas cards. Traditionally there is a robin on a card. Sometimes there is a bunch of holly on the Christmas card. You can read on the card: “Merry Christmas!”
7. Christmas pudding is the highlight of Christmas dinner. Children often put holly on the pudding. Traditionally a coin, a ring or a horseshoe is placed into the pudding.
8. You know that Father Christmas (Santa Claus) comes on Christmas Eve. He has a white beard and white and red clothes. He is always merry. He brings presents for the children.
9. Boxing Day comes after Christmas Day. It is on the 26th of December. People put their Christmas presents into boxes and give them to their relatives. They don’t work on that day. They visit friends or go to the cafes.
10.-11.And now I want you to do a small quiz about Christmas.
T: Look at our Christmas Tree, children! What’s wrong with it? … Yes! It isn’t decorated. Let’s decorate it all together. Stand up, please.
