Учебно-ролевая игра для учащихся 5–6-х классов по теме "English tea-time"

Цель: повторение изученных конструкций, диалогов, лексики.

Задачи: приблизиться к культуре, обычаям другой страны.

Функции: развивающая, коммуникативная, самореализующая.

Подготовительный этап

Дети заранее начинают готовиться к игре. В 5-м классе объявляется конкурс “Design your teapot”. Выставка работ представляется во время игры. Учащиеся 5-го класса делятся на 4 группы, каждая из которых готовит блюдо и рецепт этого блюда: 1 – scones, 2 – toasts, 3 – tea, 4 – dialogue.

Учащиеся 6-го класса так же делятся на группы, которые готовят:

1 – invitations, 2 – place markers, 3 – name badges, 4 – fortune tre, 5 – cracers, 6 – “Put the tail on the Donkey” , 7 – surprise. 8 – balloons. Таким образом, организуется праздничное чаепитие, где дети пробуют не только английские сладости, но и знакомятся с традициями английского чаепития.

Ход игры

Дети проговаривают все рецепты, готовят всю атрибутику к вечеринке, поют песни, повторяют диалоги.

I. Вступительное слово учителя

Teacher. Good afternoon. Dear friends! I am very glad to see you at the party. Today we will act, play and eat English dishes. Now let’s begin our lesson. First of all before you go the party you receive an invitation. Pupils from the 6th form know how to do it and they have prepared them for you.

II. Представление программы учащимися 6-го класса

Invitations (выходит группа (2–3 человека) из 6-го класса с приглашениями для всех присутствующих. Они раздают приглашения и рассказывают, как это делается).

I cut the card in the form of a balloon, glue it to the envelope and put a piece of string on it. Then I write the invitation on the balloon.

Teacher. When your friends have invited you to the party they begin to prepare everything.

Place markers (готовят для всех и рассказывают учащиеся 6-го класса)

I took a piece of card about 10 cm by 10 cm and cut it in the form of a balloon. Then I wrote the name, and folded the balloon in half so that it stands up.

Name badges (6 класс)

I cut a piece of card in the form of a balloon and glue a piece of string on it. Then I write the name of a guest on each badge so everybody knows who is who.

Teacher. The date of the party has come. You are at the door.

Dialoge “Saying Hello” (6 класс)

Mum. Answer the door, Jane.
Jane. I’m coming. Just a minute. Hello, Ann. Come in.
Ann. This is my friend Richard.
Richard. Hello, Jane.
Jane. This is my brother John.
Richard. Hi, John.

III. Выступление с программой учащихся 5-го класса.

Teacher. So your friend invites you to the table. You can see scones, toasts, tea on the table. Would you like to know how to cook them? Listen to your friends.

Scones-5 класс (учащиеся пекут булочки для всех и рассказывают способ приготовления):

  1. Mix the flour and baking powder.
  2. Add the butter, sugar, raisins, an egg and milk.
  3. Roll out the pastry to about 1 cm thick.
  4. Cut into rounds.
  5. Bake 15–20 minutes in a hot oven.
    Enjoy your scones.

Дети угощают всех булочками.

Toasts – 5 класс (учащиеся показывают и комментируют способ приготовления):

  1. Cut a slice of bread.
  2. Put it in the toaster.
  3. Wait a minute. It’s ready.
  4. Put the toast on your plate.
  5. Put some butter on it.
  6. Put some jam on the toast.
    Enjoy it.

Tea – 5 класс (показывают и рассказывают прямо на уроке)

  1. Fill the kettle with cold water.
  2. Boil the water
  3. Warm the pot.
  4. Put one teaspoon of tea in the pot for each person and one extra for the pot.
    Pour hot water into the pot.
  5. Enjoy your tea.

Dialogue “At the Table” (5 класс).

Jane. Help yourselves to the scones, please. Would you like a cup of tea?
Richard. Yes, thank you.
Jane. White or black?
Richard. Black, please.
Jane. Would you like some more toast?
Ann. No, thank, I haven’t eaten my first piece yet.
Mary. May I have another scone?
Jane. Yes, certainly.
Richard. Could you pass the sugar, please?
Jane. Here you are.

Все присутствующие пьют чай со сладостями.

Teacher. Dear friends! Our pupils want to tell you about traditions of tea drinking in England.

Pupil 1. English tea drinking traditions have a long history. Tea was brought to England in the seventeenth century by a Portuguese princess, who married king Charles 2 of England, and has been popular in the country ever since.

Pupil 2. Traditional tea time in English is late afternoon, when world famous 5 o’clock tea is served. Five o’clock tea is a ceremony, a work of art. It is not only about a perfect combination of the tablecloth, the napkins, the flowers, the vases and the tea set, it means a certain way of behaving and talking too. But tea is also drunk in the morning and during the day because the English believe it to be healthy and refreshing.

Pupil 3. Tea is traditionally served with lemon or milk. Tea used to be drunk black without anything in it, but as people became more in a hurry they added milk to drink it more quickly. It is possible that milk was used to cool the tea down when the hostess did not want to have her guests for too long.

Pupil 4. Another explanation of milk in tea is the fear to break the delicate porcelain that tea cups were made of. Real porcelain does not normally break but early examples of British porcelain cups sometimes fell apart. Because porcelain was very expensive at that time, it was safer to put in some milk first to reduce the temperature of the tea so the cups did not break.

Pupil 5. The essence of tea-drinking has not changed. Tea is drunk with milk, usually from china cups. The atmosphere is more important than quality of the food and the tea. Finally, tea should not be drunk in a hurry and should be accompanied by friendly conversation.

Teacher. Now let’s play the most famous party game – “Pin the tail on the Donkey”.

First you must put the poster on the wall. Then everybody has a chance to pin the tail on the donkey. It’s not so easy because you cannot see. You have a scarf over your eyes. The person who puts the tail nearest to pin to the right place is the winner.

Teacher. Now children lets sing English songs.

IV. Заключительная часть

Teacher. Now, our party is over. Our friends from the 6th form have prepared balloons for everybody. They have written a name on each balloon and “Thank you for coming to the party”. Have a look. You will go home with them.
