Цель урока: донести до сознания учащихся взаимосвязь двух понятий “счастье, здоровье человека” и “счастье, здоровье планеты”.

Задачи урока:

I. Образовательные:

  1. Активизировать лексический и грамматический материалы по темам “Экология”, “Здоровье”.
  2. Совершенствовать навыки аудирования с извлечением необходимой информации.
  3. Развивать навыки коммуникативной речи.

II. Развивающие:

  1. Развитие умения учащихся выделять главное при чтении и прослушивании текста.
  2. Развитие творческой активности учащихся.
  3. Развитие языковых, интеллектуальных и познавательных способностей.

III. Воспитательные:

  1. Воспитание экологической культуры учащихся, ответственного отношения к проблемам окружающей среды.
  2. Воспитание стремления к здоровому образу жизни.
  3. Формирование познавательной и активности.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

Warming up.

Good afternoon, boys and girls!
Good afternoon all our guests!
I’m very glad to see you.

And, of course, I’m very happy to see you when you are happy and when you are healthy.

– Can you say that you are happy nowadays?

Ps: Of course, we can.

T: And why are you happy?

When are you happy?

P1: I’m happy because I’m healthy.

P2: I’m happy when all the members of my family are happy and healthy.

P3: We are happy when our planet is not in danger.

P4: We can be happy if we can improve the world we live in.

P5-6: I can be happy when I have time for my hobby.

P7: I’m happy because I can go in for my favorite sport.

P8: I think a person can’t be happy if he doesn’t love his planet.

T: I fully share your opinions. So let’s dwell upon two main problems: our planet and our health.

II. Контроль домашнего задания.

1.The problems of our planet is a very serious problem.

First let’s read the beautiful poem, which you were to read and translate at home.

“The Earth Is Our Home”. (reading) <Приложение 1, слайд 2>

The earth is a garden,
It’s a beautiful place
For all living creatures,
For all the human race.
Helping Mother Earth,
We can peacefully roam,
We all deserve a place,
We can call our home.

T: I know that some of our pupils have translated it in their own way. Let’s listen to them.

Natasha:

“Земля – наш дом”
Земля-это сад,
Земля-это рай
Для людей, для ребят,
Для людей из всех стран.
Помогая Земле,
Можешь тихо бродить,
Чтобы мне и тебе

Земля – прекрасный дивный сад

Здесь место всем, должны мы знать –

III. Аудирование.

T: Now you will listen to the tape. Try to understand the text and answer my 2 questions:

Where does the pollution come from?

What other ecological problems are there?

3. Контроль понимания.

T: So, where does the pollution come from? <Приложение 1, слайд 4>

Ps: – Smoky industrial enterprises pollute the air.

– Cars, lorries, buses also pollute the air.

– Wastes of chemical plants pollute rivers and seas.

– People pollute rivers and forests

T: What other ecological problems are there? What have you understood?

Ps: – Nature is under threat.

– The ecological problems influence the climate.

– Acid rains, acid water kill the plants and animals that live in water.

– Forests are disappearing.

– Nuclear weapon is very dangerous.

T: And what is the main conclusion of this text?

Ps: – Enviromental protection is the most burning problem of today.

– The world’s life is in our hands.

IV. Активизация изученного материала.

T: Look here! How do you understand this saying?

Ps: – We are all responsible for our planet.

– We should take care of nature, animals, and not to forget about it every day.

– Each person should do all the best in the place he lives in.

T: You are right, of course.

I think you were able to express your thoughts in the posters, which you’ve prepared for our lesson.

T: And now I’d like you to read the words of the Famous English writer John Galsworthy. <Приложение 1, слайд 7>.

“If you don’t think about the future, you will not have it”.

T: 1) How do you think: is it possible to avoid all these problems?

2) What can we do to help our planet in order to have happy future?

So, it will be your written home task.

VI. Физкультминутка.

T: And now our second problem– our health.

We say:” When we are healthy, we are happy”.

There is one more useful saying “Seeing is believing”. So, eye-sight is very important for any person. In order you have a good eye-sight I want to remind you good exercises for your eyes. Let’s relax ourselves and do them. <Приложение 1, слайд 9>

VII. Активизация изученного материала по итогам исследовательской работы учащихся.

T: Let’s continue our work and find out what our health depends on. Let’s listen to the leaders of your groups.

1. P1: In order to find out what lifestyle our schoolmates live we asked 83 of them the following questions: <Приложение 1, слайд 10>

– Do you do your morning exercises every day?

– Which of the members of your family doеs morning exercises?

– Do you go in for sports? (sport section)

– Do you take up hiking (walking) regularly?

– How much time do you spend in fresh air every day?

– Who smokes in your family?

– Have you ever tried smoking?

– Do you smoke?

– How mаnу hours a day do you sleep?

– At what time do you go to bed?

– How much time do you spend by the computer every day?

– How long do you watch TV every day?

– Do you snack every day?

– Do you skip meals? How often?

– How often do you have sweets?

– How often do you have chips, chewing gums?

– What bread do you eat: white or brown?

– What would you prefer to eat: a bar of chocolate or an apple?

– Do you eat at night?

– Do you follow a diet?

– 13 persons of our 83 respondents do morning exercises every day.

– 39 persons of them go in for sports.

– Only 28 persons – take up hiking regularly.

-15 persons spend only 15-30 minutes in fresh air every day ( only going to school and back home )

– 19 persons spend 2-4 hours out every day.

– There are 60 smokers out of 83 families. (We mean our respondents’ members of families.)

– 56 persons out of 83 have tried smoking.

– 9 persons smoke nowadays.

– 25 persons of 83respondents sleep 7-8 hours a day.

– 60 persons go to bed too late – at 11-12 o’clock.

– 51 persons spend 3-9 hours a day by the computer.

– 29 persons watch TV 5-10 hours every day.

– 53 persons snack every day.

– 41 persons skip meals.

– 32 persons eat sweets every day or almost every day.

– 24 persons out 83-have chips every day.

33 persons have chewing gums every day.

– White bread is eaten by 57 persons.

Brown bread-by 12 persons.

– 37 persons would prefer a bar of chocolate to an apple.

– 32 persons eat at night.

– Only 14 persons follow a diet.

T: So, we can’t say our young generation is a healthy generation. And it goes without saying: that is bad. Of course, we should think of our future and therefore live a healthy lifestyle.

I would like to remind you the words of John Galsworthy again: “If you don’t think of your future, you will not have it.”

2. P3: So, our conclusions:

– According to our statistics 37% of our schoolmates don't live a healthy lifestyle.

– Our health depends on many things: the food we eat, our good or bad habits, our physical activity.

– You are – what lifestyle you live.

– A person who doesn’t care about his health can’t be happy.

– A person who doesn’t care about his health can’t be successful in life.

3. P4: In order to prove it we have taken an interview: <Приложение 1, слайд 12>

Podlasenko Vladimir, our former pupil. Now he is a student at St. Petersburg's university of physical culture.

The master of sport in thank-wan-do, a member of national teams of Russia and St. Petersburg.

Last year in September he was one of 1200 sportsmen from 43 countries, taking part in the Open Championship of Korea. He took the 3-d place.

And in November 2010 he took the 2-nd place at the Championship of Russia among adults.

Vladimir said: "Any person who doesn't live a healthy life style can't be a success. Any reasonable man should think of his health – and that means – about his life".

VIII. Заключительная часть урока. Выводы. Рефлексия.

T: I would like to add:

Let’s never forget such proverbs. Let us read and translate them. <Приложение 1, слайд 13>

  1. Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
  2. Health is above wealth.
  3. To have a healthy mind you must have a healthy body.
  4. An apple a day keeps a doctor away.
  5. The first wealth is health.
  6. Live not to eat but eat to live.

My advice is: Don’t forget the words of the greatest Russian writer Leo Tolstoy:

“In the world there are only 2 absolute values: pure conscience and health”.

So, what should we do to be happy?

Ps: – We should live a healthy lifestyle.

– We should go in for sports,

– be positive,

– believe in yourself,

– think of our planet,

– Realize our ecological problems.

T: And how can we act locally?

(Учащиеся предложили выпустить листовки с полезными предложениями по охране природы, по содержанию в чистоте своего поселка, распространить их).
