Цели:

  • познакомить учащихся с праздничными традициями стран изучаемого языка,
  • развить интерес к изучению английского языка.

Задачи:

Учебные:

  • дать информацию о традициях празднования Рождества в Великобритании и России;
  • закрепить в речи учащихся необходимые лексические единицы по теме.

Развивающие:

  • развить навыки аудирования, устной речи, чтения по теме;
  • развить память, мышление, языковую догадку;
  • продолжение выработки основ ассоциативного мышления;
  • развитие креативности.

Воспитательные:

  • создать условия для воспитания уважительного отношения к культуре другой страны через ознакомление с ее традициями, поэзией, музыкой,
  • сформировать способности участвовать в межкультурном диалоге путем сравнения традиций нашей страны с традициями англоязычных стран,
  • научить работать в команде, выполняя задания по теме.

Glad to hear it. So, winter has come, Christmas is coming now.

Tell me, please, what we are going to speak about?

You are right, more than that we’ll try to find out about traditions and customs of different countries, mainly the UK and Russia connected with Christmas celebration. And as you see we have the motto: “So many countries, so many customs.If we celebrate the same holidays we are very much alike”.

Who will help me to translate these words?

So, we will try to find out in which aspect we are alike.

P1: We are going to speak aboutwinter celebrations.

P2: As for me, I think we are going to speak about Christmas.

So, this is your first task for today. Youwill listen to the text about Christmas. Please take your cards. So, your task will be to listen to it carefully and in the gaps. The words that are you need to use are here. You will hear the recording twice. (Приложение 1)

Now when you hear it for the second time, try to pay attention to the words, how they are pronounced.

Well, thank you. You did a good job. But now we are going to see a film about Christmas in the UK. In this film I hope you will find out some more information about Christmas traditions. I think you will like it.

Ok, taking into consideration the information you’ve got from the film let’s compare Christmas celebration in the UK and in Russia.

You have got cards with the questions, please try to answer them.You have 4 minutes to do this task. (Приложение 2).You may work in pairs. Ok, now let’s see what answers have you got.

And check yourself please; here are the answers to the questions. (Учитель раздает карточки с правильными ответами). (Приложение 3) Correct your answers as you will need the information.
