1. Развитие умения читать с целью поиска конкретной информации, развитие скорости чтения, формирование грамматических навыков (оборот there is/ there are), формирование лексических навыков.
2. Развитие способности к сравнению, развитие произвольного внимания, воображения.
3. Воспитание любви к своему родному городу.

Наглядность: картинки с достопримечательностями Лондона, Губкина.

1. Оргначало.

Тeacher: Good afternoon, boys and girls. I’m glad to see you. How are you? Who is absent today? Today we’ll read about some English and American cities and we’ll speak about Gubkin, our native town. But first of all let’s repeat some words.

1) Teacher:Translate the words: музей, театр, собор, церковь, магазин, супермаркет, школа, королевский, много.

2) Тeacher: Look at the blackboard, read and translate the sentence:

There are many shops in my city.

a) Сделайте это предложение отрицательным;
b) Сделайте это предложение вопросительным.

3) Вставьте глагол is или are:

There … some juice in the glass.
There … some children in the classroom.
There … a mouse in the house.
There … cheese for tea.
There … many animals in the Zoo.

4) Составьте предложения, используя оборот there is / there are.

5. Закрепление грамматического материала (оборот there is / there are).

Выполнение упр.3 стр.128. Учащиеся подтверждают или опровергают информацию, используя оборот there is / there are.

There are three countries in Great Britain.
There are 25 letters in the English ABC.
There aren’t any parks in London.
There are a lot of people in London.
There are many queens in Great Britain.

Teacher: What other sights are there in London? Look at the pictures on the board and make up sentences using There is/ there are. Учащиеся смотрят на картинки на доске и отвечают) Например, There is Big Ben in London. There is Buckingham Palace in London. т.д. (Приложение 1)

7. Практика учащихся в письме.

Тeacher: you should write a story about Campton using this information.

Учащиеся составляют и записывают предложения в течении3-4 минут, а затем читают их.

(There is no supermarket in Campton.
There are four shops in Campton.
There are two cafes in Campton.
There are no theatres in Campton.
There is a school in Campton.
There is no castle in Campton.)

8. Практика учащихся в аудировании и чтении.

Упр.72 стр.72 – Reader.

Teacher: Послушайте текст и скажите, что привлекает туристов в Чикаго? (There are 2 skyscrapers, a lot of museums)

Учащиеся отвечают на вопрос, затем читают текст вслух.

9. Развитие навыков диалогической и монологической речи. Выполнение упр.6 стр.128-129.

1) Тeacher: Сможете ли вы найти различия между этими городами? Выберите одну из картинок. Не смотрите на картинку партнера. Задайте друг другу вопросы, чтобы найти различия. Например, Is there a park in your city? – Yes, there is. Is there a park in YOUR city? – Yes, there is.

Ученики в течение 1 минуты готовят свои диалоги, отвечают. Затем говорят, что находится в городе их партнера.

2) Тeacher: Now let’s speak about Gubkin, our home town. First of all let’s repeat some words:

4 supermarkets,
a swimming pool “Dolphin”,
many parks and squares,
17 schools; 2 musical schools,
Some churches, Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral,
an Activity Centre for children,
A cinema, a theatre, many clubs,
An Ice Arena,
2 Community Centers;
a Sport centre
an Amusement Park for children.

3) Teacher: Answer my questions, please:

1. Where do we live?
2. How old is Gubkin?
3. Is Gubkin a an old town?
4. How many people live there?
5. Is Gubkin a beautiful town?
6. Are there any parks and squares in Gubkin?
7. How many schools are there in Gubkin?
8. Are there any shops and supermarkets in Gubkin?
9. Do you love your town? And you? Why do you love it?

Teacher: Make up sentences about Gubkin using these words and phrases. (Приложение 2)

10. Объяснение домашнего задания.

Написать рассказ про Губкин.
