ХОД УРОКА:
I. Oрганизационный момент
a) Point to the map and ask some questions about the history of the USA:
– What do you know of the country?
– Which holidays can be called national American holidays?
– Which American holidays are connected with some historical events?
b) Form a motivation for further learning: On the 27th of November Thanksgiving day is celebrated in the USA.
– Сhildren do you know the story of the 1st Thanksgiving day, founded by their pilgrim father in that time so far away?
II. Введение и закрепление лексики
a) Language focus: pronunciation, match the words with the definitions and copy them: prayer, celebration, survive, pilgrim, harvest, give thanks (Cлова и их определения написаны на доске или на карточках).
b) Reading comprehension: read the text “The History of Thanksgiving day” and check true/false information.
