Цели урока:

  1. Практиковать учащихся в диалогической и моногической речи на основе изученного материала.
  2. Расширение страноведческого материала по теме “Великобритания”.

Задачи урока:

  1. Развитие умений участвовать в беседе на английском языке при обобщении лексических тем “Путешествия” и “Великобритания”.
  2. Развитие умений задавать уточняющие вопросы.
  3. Речевая тренировка учащихся в умении отвечать на вопросы собеседника.
  4. Отработка грамматических навыков в речи.
  5. Развитие умений классифицировать информацию в соответствии с заданными вопросами.
  6. Культуроведческое обогащение речевой практики школьников.
  7. Развитие коллективной деятельности.
  8. Развитие интереса учащихся в области изученной темы посредством просмотра видеоматериала.

1. Организационный момент. Приветствие.

Hello, dear schoolchildren and our guests! Today we are going to make an unforgettable tour to Great Britain and its capital. Let us imagine that you would like to spend holidays in this country. But in order to get there you will have to test yourselves in some mental competitions and show your knowledge of the English language. Every step will approach you to your destination. First of all you will tell us everything you know about this country and its capital. Then you will have to go to Travel Agency and ask all information you need; then to the Airport where you will get tickets for plane. When you get to London, you will have to book rooms at the hotel. Your way will not be easy: you must show your knowledge of English in vocabulary and in grammar: you will have to answer the questions, do crosswords, test yourselves in grammar. Besides you must ask all information you need in all places you visit, in other words, you show how you can communicate with other people while travelling. I am sure that you will manage to overcome all difficulties. So, let’s begin.

2. Before leaving, let’s remember all you know about the UK. (Pupils say 2-3 sentences on this topic, demonstrating pictures and maps).

3. Well, haven’t you changed your mind to travel? OK, let us go on. It’s time to go to Travel agency and ask everything that interests you. (А dialogue with the travel agent, lexical and grammar tasks 1).

4. Our next task is to get tickets for plane. Let’s go to the airport. Don’t forget to take your luggage. (Decorations of the airport, the booking-office, a dialogue with a clerk, lexical and grammar tasks 2).

5. Good for you! You have bought tickets for plane. Are you ready for the further steps? Well, test yourselves on plane. (The stewardess near the plane asks questions about Great Britain, pupils answer them and do grammar tasks 3).

6. So we are flying to Great Britain. Our trip is going fine. You overcome all difficulties and show good knowledge of English and the country where people speak it. (А dialogue with stewardess who offers drinks and some food).

7. At last we have landed in London airport. Now we are going to the hotel and then we will make an excursion about the city on a famous double-decker bus. (Decoration of the hotel, a dialogue at the reception and doing the crossword).

8. And now you are welcome to do the sights of London. Are you tired? (A decoration of a double-decker bus, pupils are travelling about the city. They see photos of different sights. Two pupils guides are telling about London, using the map and pictures).

9. Well, are you pleased? I think our trip was successful. What are your impressions? (Pupils are telling in turn what they liked and planning to visit other cities of Great Britain during the next holidays).

10. I am glad that you have enjoyed our travelling very much. Now you will be able to tell about your impressions to your friends and relatives. You have shown good knowledge of English and you know much of Great Britain. Thank you. I wish you good luck. Good bye.

11. Добрый день, ребята и наши гости! Сегодня мы отправляемся в большое незабываемое путешествие в страну Великобританию. Давайте вообразим, что вы хотели бы провести там каникулы. Но для того, чтобы попасть туда, вы должны пройти несколько испытаний. И каждый шаг будет приближать вас к цели.

Прежде всего, вы расскажете все, что вы знаете об этой стране и ее столице. Затем вы отправитесь в Туристическое агентство и запросите нужную информацию; в аэропорт, где вы приобретете билеты на самолет; а по прибытии в Лондон вы должны будете устроиться в отеле. На всем пути до цели вы будете отвечать на вопросы, отгадывать загадки, проверять себя в грамматических состязаниях. Ваш путь будет нелегким, но я уверена, что вы справитесь и покажете себя с лучшей стороны. Итак, начнем.

12. Давайте вспомним, отправляясь в путешествие, что мы знаем об этой далекой стране Великобритании. (Учащиеся по очереди рассказывают по 2-3 предложения о Соединенном Королевстве, используя карту и картинки).

13. Ну что ж, вы не передумали путешествовать? Хорошо, продолжим. Нам пора ехать в Туристическое агентство и спросить все, что нам нужно. (Табличка “Турагенство”, диалог с туроператором, лексические и грамматические задания №1).

14. Наша следующая задача – купить билеты на самолет. Едем в аэропорт. Не забудьте свой багаж. (Декорации аэропорта и билетной кассы, диалог с кассиром, лексические и грамматические задания №2).

15. Молодцы! Вы купили билеты на самолет. Вы готовы к дальнейшему этапу? Ну что ж, проходим дальнейшие испытания в самолете. (Декорация самолета, стюардесса задает вопросы учащимся, они отвечают и выполняют лексические и грамматические задания №3).

16. Итак, мы летим в Великобританию. Наша поездка проходит замечательно. Вы преодолеваете все трудности и показываете хорошие знания англ. языка и владеете информацией о стране. (Диалог учащихся со стюардессой, которая предлагает им напитки и продукты).

17. Наконец-то мы приземлились в аэропорту Лондона. Сейчас мы отправимся в отель, ну а затем поедем осматривать город. (Декорация отеля, диалог на ресепшене, лексические и грамматические задания №4).

18. Ну а теперь добро пожаловать на экскурсию по городу на знаменитом двухэтажном автобусе! Вы не устали? (Декорация автобуса, фото или слайды достопримечательностей, двое учащихся-гидов рассказывают о Лондоне).

19. Ну как, вы довольны? Я думаю, что наше путешествие удалось. Каковы ваши впечатления? (Учащиеся рассказывают, что им понравилось, и планируют посетить другие города Великобритании в следующие каникулы).

20. Я рада, что вам очень понравилось наше путешествие. Теперь вы сможете рассказать о своих впечатлениях своим друзьям и родственникам. Вы показали хорошие знания. Удачи вам! До свидания!

Travel agent: Oh, let me think for a moment…Well, you see, If I were you first of all I would visit the capital of Great Britain, London. It is one of the largest cities in the world and it is very beautiful. I suppose it will be interesting for you. Why could not you begin your trip with this city?

Pupil: Would you be so kind as to tell us, how much the voucher costs?

Travel agent: In order to get the voucher we must check your knowledge of English language. You will have to do some tasks. Are you ready?
