Цели урока:
Познавательные:
- знакомство с некоторыми уникальными природными шедеврами и в частности с чудесами природы Ямала.
Учебные:
- повторить пройденные и изучить новые лексические единицы в соответствии с темой урока и использовать эти единицы в коммуникативных целях;
- совершенствовать навыки обучающихся в различных видах речевой деятельности: в области чтения и говорения.
Воспитательные:
- стимулировать интерес обучающихся к учебному процессу, в частности к изучению английского языка на основе аутентичных текстов региональной направленности;
- способствовать максимальному проявлению творческих способностей обучающихся.
Развивающие:
- развивать познавательные и творческие навыки обучающихся.
Оснащение урока:путеводитель урока, презентация, карточки с названиями чудес природы Ямала, аутентичные тексты.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент.
Приветствие, сообщение даты, выявление отсутствующих, сообщение цели и задач урока.
T: Good morning dear friends! I’m glad to see you. Take your seats, please. How are you today? (ответы обучающихся I’m fine, thank you. I’m OK. etc.) Today is the 15th of December. It is Wednesday. Who is absent today? We live in a wonderful world. Different things surround us. We sometimes don’t notice the beauty of these things. Today out task is to get acquainted with some unique natural masterpieces of the World and of our region. So, the theme of our lesson today is “The Greatest Places of the World, the Greatest Places of Yamal”. Let's start. (Слайд 1)
II. Речевая и фонетическая зарядка. Знакомство с семью чудесами природы.
T – P1, P2, P3 etc.
T:Yesterday, when I prepared for our lesson I found some interesting information and pictures, which attracted my attention. Look at them. Do you know what there on these pictures are? You may name them in Russian. (Студенты называют то, что изображено на картинках, можно на русском языке). Now let’s pronounce their names in English. (Слайд 2)

T: How do you think what they are?
P: I think they are the wonders of nature.
T: You are right. Do you know where they are? You can see the names of some countries. Look at them and let’s pronounce them. (Обучающиеся произносят названия стран за преподавателем). (Слайд 3)

T:Now match them with the wonders of nature (студенты выполняют упражнение на сопоставление стран и чудес природы).
P1: Grand Canyon is in the Northwest Arizona, the USA.
P2:The Great Barrier Reef is in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia.
P3: The Valley of Geysers is on Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia.
P4:Mount Everest is on the border of China and Nepal, in the central Himalayas.
P5: The Aurora is in both hemispheres of the Earth, in its upper atmosphere.
P6: Paricutin volcano is in Paricutin village, Mexico.
P7: Victoria Falls is on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
III. Знакомство с чудесами Ямала.
T: There are a lot of magnificent places on the Earth. The more we look around us, the more wonders we see in the world. The origins of them can’t be explained. Now let’s look around us. We also live in a wonderful place, under the name of Yamal. What are your associations when you think of Yamal? Complete the Word Web (студенты заполняют Word Web словами-ассоциациями).
T: Use the expressions:
- When I think of Yamal I picture in my mind …
I think of …
I remember … - Yamal for me is …
- The word ‘Yamal’ associates with …
T: I agree with you. We associate all these words with Yamal. But can we name them as the wonders of Yamal? I think there are a lot of wonders here. What are they? I suggest reading some interesting information about these wonders of nature (студенты читают тексты и выбирают из них семь чудес Ямала). (Слайд 4-12)
IV. Обобщение.
T:We just have read the stories about the Great places of Yamal. Now let’s summarize. Do you agree with me that these places are the Wonders of our district? (студенты высказывают согласие/несогласие). Read them once more (прочитав текст дети еще раз называют чудеса природы Ямала).
V. Подведение итогов урока. Домашнее задание. Выставление оценок.
T: Today we have got acquainted with some interesting information about the wonders of nature of the world and of our region. We have named the seven Greatest Places of Yamal. I think you are interested in this information. And I suggest to continue working with this theme and to make a project. So, your home task is to find any more information about our district and its wonders.
