AIMS:

• to revise the vocabulary related to the topic;
• to incorporate pair and group work at the lesson;
• to expand students’ vocabulary;
• to develop students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

EQUIPMENT: presentation, handouts for group, pair and individual work.

PROCEDURE

1. WARMING UP:

A) Reading and acting out the poem

B) Watching the presentation and guessing the names of kinds of sports.

SPORTS IN OUR LIFE.

I like to go in for sports. Sport makes your body strong and healthy. There are many sports in our life. Some of them are winter sports like skating, skiing, hockey, snowboarding, curling, and some of them are summer sports like running, cycling, horseracing, rowing, jumping, swimming, tennis. Some sports are team sports like football, basketball, volley-ball and another are for two people against each other like boxing, wrestling, fencing. There are many places for sports: skating rinks, gyms, swimming pools, stadiums.

Answer the questions in pairs after reading.
