Student 1.It is King Henry VIII. He was a very important monarch. Under him Britain became a rich and powerful country.He had six wives.
Student 2.It’s Queen Elizabeth, Henry’s daughter. During her reign the Spanish Armada was defeated and the country became very powerful. The Queen was very strong and popular.
Student 3.It’s Queen Victoria. She ruled the country for 64 years. She was married Prince Albert and had nine children. The Queen was very popular because Britain became a rich industrial country, an empire with a lot of colonies.
Student 4.It is Queen Elizabeth II. She is on the British throne now.

Учитель напоминает учащимся, что в конце 5 класса они писали письмо королеве, в котором рассказывали о себе, своей школе и городе. Лучшее письмо было отправлено в Лондон на адрес канцелярии Ее Величества в Букингемского дворце. В ответном письме были высланы несколько информационных листков о королеве, ее обязанностях как главы государства и о Букингемском дворце. На уроке учащиеся должны изучить эту информацию и научиться рассказывать о королеве.

T. Some information sheets about the Queen and Buckingham Palace were sent in the letter. And today you will learn more about the Queen’s life and her family reading these information sheetsand listening to the text about her working day.
4. Jigsawreading.
Учащиеся заранее поделены на группы по 4 человека так, чтобы в каждой группе были дети с разным уровнем языковой подготовки. Каждый член группы получает свой текст (разного уровня сложности) из информационных листов (то есть предполагается дифференцированный подход). Учащиеся читают текст, отвечают на вопросы, предложенные учителем, затем делятся полученной информацией с остальными членами своей группы в следующем режиме “Р1 – Р 2,3,4” (и т.д.). В процессе обмена результатами своей деятельности учащиеся знакомятся со всеми текстами informationsheets.Для контроля усвоения материала учитель предлагает во время рассказов заполнить Activitysheets, куда заносится полученная информация.

T. Listen to the text about one of the working day of the Queen and choose the right answer. You will listen to the text twice.
Queen Elizabeth II wakes up at 7 o’clock, has a cup of tea and reads the Times. Then she has a bath and gets dressed. At 8 o’clock she listens to the BBC news and has breakfast with Prince Philip. After breakfast she reads personal letters and has an important business consultation with Private Secretary and then works at government documents. At 1o’clck she has a lunch in her private apartments in Buckingham Palace and at 2o’clock leaves the Palace to open a new hospital. There she makes speeches, shakes hands and has a cup of tea. At 4.45 she is back at the Palace and works in her office. At 5.30 she receives foreign visitors and then has the final meeting with her Private Secretary. In the evening she goes to St. James Palace where she has a reception party and talks with 70 people. Then she goes back to the Palace and at 8.30 has dinner with Prince Philip and a group of some businessmen. At 10o’clck she watches television news and then reads official papers and telephones some members of the Royal Family-just to see if all is well. At about 11o’clock she goes to bed.
