- обучение устной речи;

- развитие лингвистической догадки;
- повышение мотивации к обучению иностранного языка;

воспитание уважения к культуре других стран.
Подготовительная работа
Урок требует тщательной подготовки наглядного материала и оформления класса. В классе должно быть много картинок с видами Лондона: фотографии или картинки достопримечательностей, можно повесить фотографии королевской семьи. Также необходимо подготовить раздаточный материал ко всем заданиям. Данное занятие проводится в качестве вводного урока в тему “Лондон” (в конце предыдущего урока учащимся сообщается тема обсуждения– Лондон).Учащиеся знакомятся с достопримечательностями Лондона. На основе этого материала отрабатывается введенный грамматический материал по теме “Пассивный Залог”. Занятие для учащихся 6 классов рассчитано на 45 минут.

Учитель: At the end of the previous lesson we spoke with you about London, its places of interest, famous people. Let’s see what you remember. What associations do you have when you hear about London? Who will be the first?
Предполагаемые ответы учащихся: the Tower of London, London Eye, Big Ben, Oxford Street, Westminster Abbey, Victoria Station, Trafalgar Square, the Great Fire, Hyde Park.
На доске и стендах – раздаточный материал. Учащимся необходимо показать достопримечательности Лондона и ответить на вопрос: What is the place famous for?

Учитель: And now I offer you to continue our lesson with the task “Discovering London in Books”. Have a look at the books. In what book is London described? You are ready, aren’t you?
В зоне видимости учащихся стоят книги на английском языке: “ Oliver Twist”, “Mary Poppins”, “Harry Potter”,“ The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”, “ The Prince and the Pauper”.
На доске – образец высказывания:
The book…………..was……………V3…(to write)……….by……………………
Предполагаемые ответы учащихся:
The book “Oliver Twist” was written by Charles Dickens.
The book “The Prince and the Pauper” was written by Mark Twain
The book “Mary Poppins” was written by Pamela Travers.

В каждом ответе должен быть использован страдательный залог.

Учитель: On the blackboard you see the portraits of different people. Some of you will read the descriptions of these people, and one of the pupils is to match the pictures and descriptions, saying 2-3 sentences about each person in Passive Voice.

She was born in 1890. 75 detective stories were written by her. She died in 1976.
She was taught at home. Her first novel appeared in 1920. Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple were created by her. (Agatha Christie).

He is considered to be one of the world’s greatest writers. He was born in Stradford-upon-Avon in 1564. He was 21 when he came to London, where he became an actor and a lot of his plays were written there. He died in 1616.(William Shakespeare).

He was born in 1859 in Scotland. He was a doctor, then he began to write detective stories. The famous character Sherlock Holmes was created by him. Sherlock Holmes lived in London, in Baker Street. The writer died in 1930.(Arthur Conan-Doyle).

He is a famous English writer. He was born in 1812 in a poor family. The book “Oliver Twist” was written by him. The novel was a great success. He suddenly died in 1870.(Charles Dickens).

He was born in London in1889. Later he moved to the USA. The world was crazy about Charlie. Charlie was created and performed by this famous actor and film director.(Charlie Chaplin).

He was born in 1874. He was the British Prime Minister during the Second World War (1940-1945) and after the Second World War (1951-1955). For his historical studies he was given the Noble Prize for Literature in 1953. The residence of the British Prime-Ministers is situated in London, in Downing Street. (Winston Churchill).

He is best known for the Battle of Trafalgar, which took place in 1805. But his famous battle was his last. He was badly wounded in the battle and died soon after it. He was famous for his victories against the French fleet. He is buried in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.(Admiral Lord Nelson).

This queen was one of the most popular British monarchs. Her reign lasted 64 years (1837-1901), it was the longest in British history and is known as the Victorian era.
Interesting to know:
She didn’t go to school. She was taught at home .She had nine children. Her nickname was the Grandmother of Europe. (Queen Victoria).

When he was 21, he was promised the English throne. But Harold was chosen by the English nobles to be King of England.
A great army was gathered and it sailed across the English Channel. The battle began at Hastings in 1066 – Harold was killed in it. The battle was lost. So this man, a Norman duke, became King of England. He was crowned in Westminster Abbey.(William the Conqueror).

In June 1910 this Captain wanted to reach the South Pole. It was a terrible journey. For the final part of the journey five men were chosen. They said “good-bye” to their friends and for 13 months nothing was heard of them. These five men reached the North Pole but they were not the first.(Captain Robert Scott).

She was intelligent, courageous and determined. She was often called Good Queen Bess. She was the daughter of Henry VIII and became Queen after the death of her elder sister Mary. During her reign daring raids on the Spanish colonies in American were made, Spanish ships were robbed, England became a great sea power.(Queen Elizabeth the First).

He was born in 1632. He was the greatest English architect. 53 London churches were designed by him, including St. Paul’s Cathedral, where he was later buried with great ceremony. He was knighted in 1673. (Sir Christopher Wren).
Предполагаемые ответы учащихся основываются на содержании прочитанного описания картинок. В ответах обязательно используется конструкция “ Пассивный Залог”.

Учитель: Let’s watch the film about London. Having watched it, be ready to answer the questions:’ What places of interest have you seen in the film? Say a few words about them using Passive Voice”.

Buckingham Palace (“Buck House”, as it is called by Londoners) is known as the London residence of the Queen.
In front of the Palace can be seen the memorial to Queen Victoria.
Westminster Abbey. Almost every English King and Queen, has been crowned, married and buried there, and more than 5000 people are remembered inside (among them are Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots, Sir Winston Churchill), etc.
В каждом ответе должен быть использован страдательный залог. В заключении урока – творческие работы учащихся.
Учитель: And one more interesting thing connected with the Passive Voice –the poems of the students , some of them are published in the School Newspaper “ Smash”.
A Poor Rat and a Fat Cat.
Once a fat cat сaught a rat,
The poor rat was caught.
The cat was very fat,
And one plan to the rat occurred.
Poor rat, poor rat-
It was shaken by the cat.
It was thrown by the cat.
It showed the cat was mad.
The little rat found a moment to run,
And her plan was lovely done.
To the angry fat cat
A letter was sent:
