Эти материалы составлены в качестве опоры для учителей английского языка с целью подготовки выпускников к письменной части ЕГЭ. В настоящее время подготовка ведется в формате “opinion” essay, при этом кажется целесообразным интегрирование “for and against” essay в выше указанный формат. Идея этого “универсального плана” является актуальной до сих пор, т.к. оба типа сочинения являются программными. Ниже предлагается некий набор - “ нейтральный скелет”, который, будучи оплетен функциональными фразами, обслуживающими разные типы эссе, превращается в требуемое сочинение. Таким образом, написание двух типов эссе следует проводить по следующему алгоритму:
- Необходимо внимательно прочитать тему (однажды на вопрос , нужно ли запретить размещение машин, продающих шоколадки и газированные напитки в школе, я получила развернутые сочинения о вреде fast food)
- Выяснить тип сочинения. Каждый тип обслуживает жесткая структура – план и свойственные только этому типу функциональные фразы, они закладываются заранее (если не успели освоить – они будут представлены перед Вами.)
- Составить (обязательно! Без этого навыка легко заплутаться в собственных изысках) таблицу “за и против” либо “я думаю – другие думают” (что, в общем, одно и то же).
- Использовать нейтральный вариант , предложенный ниже, либо рожденный в собственных муках (см. п. 3 )и обвязать кружевами функциональных фраз, обслуживающих различные типы сочинений Вашу заготовку. Не забудьте, что проверяют нас/вас/экзаменуемых на знание синонимичных конструкций, поэтому начиная любой абзац, следует перефразировать тему.
- Сочинение готово. Хотите – верьте, хотите – нет, оно получит неплохой балл, если все выполнено по алгоритму (читай – по плану) и экзаменуемые не перепутали случайно moreover и however (в таком случае они будут наказаны за отсутствие логической связи…). Даже если предположения и аргументы не будут очень убедительны, наличие точной структуры (layout) и корректное употребление функциональных фраз обеспечат желаемый результат. (Попробуй, оспорь заявление под прикрытием “as I see it”…)
Например, задана тема How much freedom should children have? Требуется написать opinion-essay. Действуем по плану:
1. Внимательно читаем тему. По-счастью, ее трудно истолковать двояко.
2. Выбираем план сочинения opinion – essay” и функциональные фразы, обслуживающие этот тип сочинения:
- Introduction. State the problem (paraphrase the task!) and your own opinion (I’m totally/ dead against the idea of…I couldn’t agree more that…I strongly/firmly believe that…Personally I think…In my opinion…From my point of view…To my mind…As I see it).
- Your opinion. Start with a topic sentence. Use opinion phrases (given above) and give 2-3 arguments to support your point of view.
- Other people’s opinion. Start with a topic sentence. Give other people’s arguments (2) and explain why you disagree with them (some people believe/ feel that… Others argue that… According to other people’s point of view…) .
- Conclusion. Draw a conclusion where you restate your opinion and sum up the arguments which support it.
Introduction: -It’s clear that there are two sides to the argument…- It’s a controversial/ burning question/issue …- The problem of… has been discussed for ages…
Adding ideas:-To begin with… In addition… Moreover / what is more… What I would also like to mention is…
Illustrating a point: - One example of …is… For instance,…
Causes and consequences:- As a result,… Therefore… Consequently,… This leads to… For this reason.
Conclusion:In conclusion…All in all…To sum up…As we can see…This issue is far from resolving yet but I… The arguments in favour of…/against seem more persuasive, so I… I’m sure that the benefits/drawbacks of… can be long term while the drawbacks /benefits are only temporary…the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
3. Составляем таблицу “ я думаю – другие думают”:
1. Children should be under the control all the time |
1. Children should be allowed to run wild. |
2. Parents should supervise them in a wise way. |
2. Children will learn to be responsible by the mistakes they make. |
4. Используя функциональные фразы, пишем вступление, перефразируя тему. Далее к каждому положению из таблицы приводим доказательство – иллюстрацию (не забыв добавить, что это Ваше личное мнение). Заключение может быть универсальным- решение всегда зависит от личности. Но и оно должно быть обвязано соответствующими фразами. В заключение хочу напомнить: не следует забывать о запрете начинать предложение со слов But, So, And (хорошо бы получить объяснение по этому поводу…)
Если Вы хотите написать эссе “for and against”, действовать следует аналогично, только план сочинения и функциональные фразы следует выбрать для этого типа сочинения. Таблица останется такой же.
- Introduction. State the problem (paraphrase the task!) and mention that points of view differ. (It’s clear that there are 2 sides to this argument. It’s a controversial/ burning question/ issue. There is no agreement/ a dispute/ a discussion about…The problem/ phenomenon of…has always been…
- Arguments “for” Start with a topic sentence (paraphrase it again!). Name 2-3 arguments. Explain each of them in details and illustrate.
- Arguments “against” Start with a topic sentence (paraphrase it again!). Name 2-3 arguments. Explain each of them in details and illustrate.
- Draw a conclusion. You can also add your opinion.
Adding ideas: To begin with… In addition… Moreover / what is more…One important advantage is that… Another difficult effect is that … another point to be made is that…There is another side to the problem of…On the positive/negative side…
Contrast: However, Nevertheless, On the other hand, In contrast to this, Although, Even though, In spite of, Despite of.
Conclusion: Используем те же фразы, что и в “opinion-essay”, убрав все ссылки(даже косвенные на себя, любимого):In conclusion,…All in all,…To sum up,…On balance,…This issue is far from resolving …As we have seen, there are many arguments on both sides of the debate…

Example: How much freedom should children have? “Opinion –essay”
1. Introduction (use reported question if necessary) :
It is often said that we live in a permissive age, when people take the opportunity for doing everything what they like. The question if it is good for children or they must be totally controlled has been discussing. I am dead against both complete freedom and tight restriction. (46 w.)
2. Your opinion .
Children should be under the control all the time as I see it. To start with, without any supervision they can deal with wrong people and get into the habits which could hardly ever be broken then. I do not have any doubts, if parents want their children’s characters take the desired shape, they should supervise them in a wise way. Conversely, being extremely strict might encourage rebelliousness or suppress natural sense of adventure and curiosity, make a child timid and inhibited. (82 w.)
3. Other people’s opinions.
Some people believe children should be allowed to run wild. According to their point of view this enables children’s personalities to develop naturally. Moreover , they consider that their children will learn to be responsible by the mistakes they make. To my mind, this might lead to juvenile delinquency with children ending up in the courts. Anyway this makes children selfish, without any consideration for others. (65 w.)
4. Conclusion.
All in all as we can see if children can do what they want is a controversial question. I couldn’t agree more that bringing up children to be normal, well-adjusted adults requires great wisdom to regulate their behavior as well as acquaintances and achieve the desired result. (36 w.) (233 w.)
