Chapters 1, 2. Mr. Sherlock Holmes. The Curse of the Baskervilles

Task I. Decide if the sentences are true or false

  1. Sherlock Holmes is telling the story.
  2. Once  Dr. Mortimer came to Piccadilly Circus 221 B to see Sherlock Holmes.
  3. The man explained that he was a doctor and that he worked and lived in London.
  4. He also added that he was Sir Charles Baskerville’s son and that Sir Charles had died .
  5. Dr Mortimer told a funny story about the Curse of the Baskervilles.
  6. In 1645 the owner of Baskerville Hall was Sir Charles.
  7. He was a pleasant man who fell in love with a farmer’s daughter and took her to his place by force (силой).
  8. The girl was afraid but did nothing.
  9. Sir Hugo and his men followed the girl but all of them were killed by a huge dog.
  10. Since then all members of Baskerville family had lived happily.
