1) Организационный момент.
Good afternoon, everybody!
Nice to see you again.
Today we have a lesson on topic “Travellers”.
We’ll talk about travelling and sightseeing, practice in speaking, listening, reading and writing, and make a wonderful journey to some countries.
2) Brain storming.
Do you like travelling? And you? And what about you?
As for me, if only I could, I’d travel all the year round.
Why do people travel? (They want to relax, to see beautiful places, etc.)
Is it important to travel?
Yes, visiting foreign countries people learn different culture and different lifestyle and quite different philosophy of life. People compare them and it developes human personality.
Another important thing is – when people from different countries meet and communicate they become warmer and more tolerant and more inner.
All people are children of the world, all people are different and same, and all people want to live in peace. So we may say that travelling helps to strengthen peace in the world.
Yes, people had always wanted to learn something new, to see something they have never seen. That’s why our ancestors left their places of living and went (on) traveling and they discovered new lands…
What great travellers do you know? (……)
It was developing of the world, wasn’t it? (Yes, indeed.)
Nowadays people have huge opportunities for travelling. How can people get different places? (Use a poster “Methods of transport”.)
Where do modern people go nowadays?
What are the most popular places for visiting?

Did you visit any of these countries? I’m sure, you’ll visit them one day.
And what can you say about Russia? Are people from foreign countries interested in Russia? (What cities do they usually visit? - Moscow, St. Petersburg, the towns of Gold Rig Route…)
And what about Ufa? Do foreingers come to our city? Why?
1) On busyness - we have oil-refining plants, banks, a lot of offices of different kinds.
2) For sport competitions - for example: motor-cycling races, this autumn there was an international championship in summer biathlon at Belaya river (you know this place- from the Komarov bus stop down to Belay River. Some of you watched this championship).
3) For rest - the nature of Bashkortostan is very rich and our popular kinds of tourism are river-ratting, snowboarding, slalom. You remember, when the President of Russia came to Ufa, he visited the famous alpin skiing resort in Abzakovo and enjoyed high speed skiing down the Urals.
So we see, Bashkortostan is an interesting place for foreign tourists too, we may be proud of this fact.
People all over the world like travelling. Let’s sing a song about it.
3) Song “Travel”.

4) Journey.
And now I suggest you to leave for one of the wonderful and the most romantic cities in world-Paris. Do you agree? We’ll go there by train. (Стук колес)
Imagine that you are in a train. These are your compartments. Is it comfortable for you? Let’s talk about something pleasant.
Is it your first trip abroad? Where have you been? Can you tell about your trip? (~3 pupils are telling about their trips (photographs)).
5) Writing.
Look here! We have forgotten about the documents. Before arriving in Paris we should prepare some papers for customs control. Please fill the registration cards. (Ученики заполняют бланки)

6) Watching a film (“Paris”).
To listen for the first time, then to show on the blackboard:
1) Paris is famous for (history and architecture).
2) It’s one of the (most romantic cities).
3) For centuries it’s the place where (painters are working), here you may (walk and relax).
4) You can take a (sightseeing tour) bus.
5) You may visit (Louver) Museum, there are (30 thousand) works of art.
6) You may see (the Eiffel Tower).
7) You may see (the Arch of Triumph).
8) You may visit (elegant shops) if (you have a plenty of money).
9) The night Paris is (alive).

7) Dialogues.

Do you like travelling?
Almost all of us like it. But while travelling there are such moments when we are a bit sad and we fell that we’re missing our home and we want to return back. The English say:
Home, sweet Home.
East or west, home is best.
There is no place like home.
Because home is the place where we are loved and are waited, it’s the place where we feel the most comfortable and where we can breath easily. Our home is the best place for us.
So let’s return to our favourite Motherland - Russia, to our native city - Ufa.
And let’s finish our journey with a merry song.
