Цели мероприятия:

  • Практическая: профессиональное самоопределение учащихся;
  • Образовательная: ознакомить учащихся с профессиями, требующими знание английского языка;
  • Развивающая: развивать способности к анализу и синтезу полученной информации, развивать языковую догадку на основе контекста, развивать способности к формулированию понятий, развивать творческие способности учащихся, развивать мотивацию к изучению английского языка
  • Воспитательная: воспитывать в учащихся уважение к труду, к представителям разных профессий, к родному городу

Оборудование: набор бланков для ответов (по 1 набору для каждой команды, 3 бланка в каждом, всего 3 набора), англо-русские и русско-английские словари.

Ход мероприятия

1. Начальный этап.

1.1 Приветствие, определение режима работы.

Т: Good morning to everybody. I am glad to see you. Today we are going to speak about professions.

We are going to work in groups this lesson. I fact, this lesson is a competition. Now you will be divided into 3 groups.

1.2 Разделение на подгруппы происходит методом случайного подбора членов.

2. Основной этап.

2.1 Выполнение заданий соревнования.

Т: Each task is a "station". You have got 15 minutes to complete the task, and then you should move to another "station". All the groups start at the same time.

1) This is our town. Its name is Talnakh. In Talnakh there are a cinema, a museum, a swimming pool, some gyms and many other interesting places. Talnakh is a beautiful town, but at night it is especially beautiful. You can n see the night Talnakh at this picture.

2) We live in North, behind the Polar Circle. Our winter is very long. Usually it starts in October and ends in May. It lasts for about eight or nine months. It is also cold and snowy. Sometimes it is very snowy so that the first floors of our houses are in snow too. You can see it on this picture.

3) There is one amazing place near Talnakh. We call it "Krasnye kamni" .There are some waterfalls. There are rocks and people like to climb them. Our school has a tradition – we all go there every September. We like it very much! You can see this place on this picture.

4) Here you can see one of our mines. It is in the 5th micro region. Many of our fathers and mothers work here. Their work is very hard.
