Цели и задачи:

  • Провести итоговое занятие английского клуба в форме ролевой игры “We are going to London”.
  • Посредством предмета способствовать формированию самостоятельности, активности, коммуникативности, навыков взаимодействия учащихся.
  • Способствовать овладению учащимися языковыми средствами: фонетическими, лексическими, грамматическими.
  • Воспитывать у учащихся уверенность в своих силах, нацеленность на результат, на успех.
  • Обеспечивать вариативно-избирательный подход к использованию языка и возможности проведения занятия в группе с разным уровнем подготовки учащихся.
  • Приобщать учащихся к культуре, традициям и реалиям страны изучаемого языка.
  • Воспитывать понимание важности изучения английского языка в современном мире; потребности использования его, как средства общения, познания; толерантное отношение к проявлению другой культуры.

Материал:

  • проектор, компьютерная презентация,
  • магнитофон, плакаты, раздаточный материал,
  • атрибуты костюмов, музыкальное оформление.

Today we` d like to invite you to make a curious tour with us, the participants of our famous successful “English Club”. Have a nice time!

At the Travel Agency:

P (the group leader): Good afternoon.

P: Good afternoon. My name is Sonya. And I`m the director of the Travel Agency. Can I help you?

P (the group leader): Oh, yes. I`m going on holidays with group of pupils. We`d like to go to the UK.

P: We have wonderful tours to the UK. I think this information help you to choose the best one.

P: I`d like to invite you to London. It`s a great city with great history. The Tower of London tells you about the history of England. You see Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul`s Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, visit London Zoo.

P: This tour is unusual because you can visit not only London but Stonehenge.

P (the group leader): Sorry, how can we get to Stonehenge?

P: You get to London by plane and to Stonehenge by helicopter.

P (the group leader): Oh, it`s great.

P: Why not travel to Scotland, one of the countries of Great Britain. It`s a beautiful country with high mountains and big lakes. In North Scotland there is a deep dark lake Loch Ness. People say there is a big monster in the lake – Loch Ness Monster.

P (the group leader): Thank you very much. It`s very interesting but I think we are going to London. Bye.

P (the group leader): – Ps: Oh, dears, we are going to London.

T: Wonderful. But I`d like to see how much you know about the UK. Could you answer my questions, please?

P: And now we are going to London by plane.

At the Airport on the plane:

P (the group leader): Good morning. Here are our tickets, please.

Stewardess: Good morning. Well, your seats are in a non-smoking section. Here are your landing cards.

P (the group leader): Thanks. So dears, please take your seats.

Pilot: Ladies and gentlemen, this is the pilot speaking. I`d like to welcome you aboard “British Airways” Flight 31, non-stop to Heathrow airport in London.

Stewardess: Fasten your seatbelts, please. (Стюардесса проходит между рядов.)

Stewardess: What would you like to drink?

P: Can I have an orange juice, please?

Stewardess: Yes, of course. And what about you?

P: I`d like a cup of tea?

Stewardess: Milk, sugar?

P: Milk, please. No sugar.

P: Can I have a pizza, please?

Stewardess: Sorry, we don`t have any pizza. Etc.

(Стюардесса проводит физминутку. Дети поют песню “I Love Holidays” и выполняют движения.)

Stewardess: Ladies and gentlemen, now we are at Heathrow airport in London. Thank you for the flight.

(Пилот и стюардесса выходят под аплодисменты.)

P (the group leader): – Ps: Let`s go, dears!

(Учащиеся занимают свои места по обе стороны зала. Выходит учащийся с табличкой:  “Saratov. Progymnasia “Ideal”)

At the Airport in London:

P: Excuse me.

P (the group leader): Yes.

P: Are you from Russia, from Saratov?

P (the group leader): Yes.

P: Are you the group leader?

P (the group leader): Yes, I am.

P: My name is Stella Cruz from Travel Agency in London.

P (the group leader): How do you do? I`m Artem.

P: How do you do? Nice to meet you.

P (the group leader): Nice to meet you, too. And these are my pupils.

Ps: Nice to meet you.

P: Welcome to the UK.

Ps: Hello London!

P: Hello London! It`s big and noisy. It`s one of the wonderful cities in the world. Over 7 million people live in it. (Выходит учащийся в форме водителя.)

At the Bus:

P: Look! This is a famous London Sightseeing Bus. Come on. Let`s get the bus. We can see many interesting places from it.

Driver: Hello, today I`ll be your driver.

P-P (the group leader): Can I buy tickets?

P (the group leader): Of course.

Driver: Good afternoon.

P: Good afternoon. Can I have 13 tickets, please? One adult and 12 children, please.

Driver: Single or return?

P: Return, please.

Driver: That`s ninety-five pounds, please.

P: Here you are. Thank you.

Driver: These are your tickets and your change, please. Have fun!

P (the group leader) – Ps: Take your seats, please!

(Учащиеся вновь занимают места на стульчиках, установленных в центре зала.)

Guide: Hello! My name is Susan Bailey. I`m the guide. Glad to meet you. Welcome on board of our bus.

(Гид проводит физминутку с учащимися. Chant: “Look to the left! Look to the right!”)

Guide: We are in the central London. Please, look to the right. That`s Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth II lives there.

P: Oh, the Queen is at home.

P: Are you sure?

P: Yes, look at the flag flies from the top of the flagpole (at the front of the palace).

P: Wow, it`s great! This is Westminster Abbey.

P: What is it?

Guide: Westminster Abbey is the famous church in London. English kings and queens have their coronations here. Queen Elizabeth II had her coronation here in 1953.

P (group leader): Let`s go off the bus for a visit. (Учащиеся занимают свои места в зале.)

P (group leader): But I don`t know where the houses of Parliament are?

P: Oh, that is a policeman. (Выходит учащийся в форме полицейского.)

A Policeman:

P: Excuse me, officer.

Policeman: Yes, can I help you?

P: Could you tell me, where the Houses of Parliament are?

Policeman: Well, they are near St. James Park in Victoria Street.

P: Thank you very much.

Policeman: Not at all. You are welcome.

The Houses of Parliament:

P: Oh, these are the Houses of Parliament, the home of the British Government.

P: Please, look up! This is Big Ben, the Clock Tower. Big Ben is really the name of the bell inside the Tower. The Tower is more than 100 meters high. You can hear Big Ben every hour.

At the Zoo:

P: We`re at Regent`s Park, the home of London Zoo. The Zoo was opened in 1828. It has animals and birds from all over the world. Let`s sing the action song!

(Учащийся проводит физминутку. A Song: Can you swim like a fish?)

P: You don`t feed the animals at the Zoo. Look at the board.

P: Do not feed the animals. Do they have African elephants at the Zoo?

P: Please, look at the map. There are many animals at the Zoo: bears, pandas, pumas, chimpanzees, lizards, penguins, kangaroos. Oh, here they are African elephants.

P: Where can we find crocodiles? They are my favorite animals.

P (looking at the map): Turn left. Go straight. Turn right near lizards and dolphins. Let`s go.

P: Oh, they are so big.

Zoo keeper: Be careful. They are dangerous!

P: Excuse me. What time do the crocodiles eat?

Zoo keeper: At 12 o`clock and at 4 o`clock.

P: Thanks.

P (group leader) – Ps: It`s 1 o`clock. It`s time to have lunch. Let`s go to a café.

At the Café:

P: Good afternoon.

Waiter: Good afternoon. Can I help you?

P: Yes, can I have an espresso and a mineral water, please?

Waiter: Small, medium or large?

P: Small, please.

Waiter: Anything else?

P: No, thank you.

Waiter: Eat in?

P: Pardon?

Waiter: Eat in or take away?

P: Eat in, please. How much is it?

Waiter: 10 pounds 50.

P: Here you are.

Waiter: Thank you. Have a nice day.

P: Have a nice day, too.

P: Hello. I`d like a cappuccino, please.

Waiter: With sugar?

P: No, thank you.

Waiter: Anything else?

P: A piece of chocolate cake, please.

Waiter: Certainly. That`s 4 pounds 30.

P: Here you are.

Waiter: Thank you. Have a nice day!

On the Helicopter:

P (the group leader): Hurry up, children. We are going to Stonehenge by helicopter.

Ps: Great!

P: Take your seats, please. (Учащиеся садятся вновь на стульчики посреди зала.)

P: The helicopter flies to Stonehenge.

P: How curious is it? Oh, what`s that?

P: That`s Stonehenge!

(Учащиеся образуют круг.)

At the Stonehenge:

P: The stones are huge.

P: How tall are they?

P: I think about 10 meters tall and very heavy.

P: How old is Stonehenge?

P: Sorry, I don`t know.

P: It`s about 5,000. Some people think it`s a computer for astronomers.

P: Wow!

P (group leader) – Ps: It`s a pity. We`re coming back to Russia! Goodbye Stonehenge! Goodbye London!
