I. Организационный момент.
– Good morning, boys and girls. (Good morning!)
– Glad to meet you. (Glad to meet you too.)
П. Сообщение темы и целей урока.
– Today we will have a talk about your hobbies and favourite leisure activities. You will describe pictures and talk about photos, read magazine articles, practice expressing preferences, learn more about present tenses and –ing forms.
III. Фонетическая разминка.
– Before we will speak about your favourite pastimes let’s learn a little poem.
PASTIMES
Dancing, shopping, walking her collie
These are the hobbies of my sister Polly.
Cycling, swimming, playing computer
The favourite activities of my brother Peter.
– Can you recite the poem by heart? Try to compose a poem yourselves.
IV.Речевая разминка.
– How do you spend your free time? Look at the photos. What kind of free-time activities do you think the children have? (I like doing sports. I’m keen on going to the cinema. I prefer to play computer games etc.)
– When do you usually have your free time? ( after school, in the evening, when it’s rainy, at the weekend, on holidays etc.)
– What do you associate with the words: “spare time”, “free time”, “time out”, ”leisure time”? (I think about after-school activities, weekends, hobbies, travelling etc.)
V. Активизация лексики по теме “Хобби”. Работа в парах.
– Are the activities on the list popular in your country? Complete the questionnaire and compare with the answers of your classmates. Are they similar or different? Write often (O), sometimes (S), or never (N). ( Приложение)
VI. Развитие навыков чтения с извлечением нужной информации.
– Do you know what American children do after school? Going to the Malls (big shopping centres) is a favourite pastime of many Americans. Some of them spend a lot of time there and are called “Mall rats”. Read the text Mall rats [1] and say how Nancy, the Kowalskis, Tyler spend their leisure time in the Mall. (Приложение)
VII. Введение новых лексических единиц по теме.
After reading find in the text the words for some leisure facilities. ( Приложение)
VIII. Развитие навыков изучающего чтения.
– Can you dance? What style of dance can you do? Which famous people do you think are good dancers?
– Rap and breakdancing is very popular today with young Russians. Do you know what city is it originated in? Read the text Dancing in the street [2]. Are the following statements TRUE or FALSE?
IX. Развитие коммуникативных навыков.
– What about your hobbies and interests. Complete the sentences about your hobbies and interests.
X. Развитие навыков грамматики по теме Present tenses and –ing forms.
XI. Домашнее задание.
– Do you think you do the same things in your spare time your parents did many years ago? How have people’s life style changed? Ask your parents and make a list of their favourite pastimes. Add your own ideas.
XII. Подведение итогов урока.
– We have done a lot today. What new information have you learnt? Thank you for the work.
When it’s morning, get up.
When it’s lesson, speak up.
When it’s school, be in time.
And everything will be fine.
