Цели:
- Познавательный аспект: знакомство с особенностями британской культуры (нормой поведения и общения).
- Учебный аспект: развитие навыков практического овладения языком по теме “Как спросить дорогу” по всем видам речевой деятельности.
- Развивающий аспект: развитие речемыслительной деятельности учащихся, их эмоциональной сферы.
- Воспитательный аспект: воспитание уважения учащихся к британской культуре; привитие навыков самостоятельности в работе.
Задачи:
- Формировать грамматические навыки говорения (прямой порядок слов после “Can you tell me …?”).
- Активизировать ранее изученный лексический и грамматический материал по данной теме (в различных речевых ситуациях).
- Тренировать учащихся в аудировании (в том числе с использованием компьютерной программы), чтении с полным пониманием прочитанного.
- Развивать навыки диалогической речи.
Оборудование:
- Учебник для 6 класса под ред. К.И. Кауфман, М.Ю. Кауфман;
- Аудиокассета к учебнику;
- Презентация в программе “Power Point”(Приложение 1);
- CD компании EuroTalk “Учите английский”;
- раздаточный материал (Приложение 2, Приложение 3).
Stages:
I. Preliminary
Good afternoon!
Glad to see you in a good mood and smiling.
Get ready everything necessary for our lesson.
There must be your student’s books, your copy-books.
Sit down, please.
Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? What date is it today?
Let’s begin.
II. Phonetic work
We go to school every day and see a lot of trams, buses and cars in the streets. They run up and down the street and we must remember the rule. What rule? Listen to a short poem.

Run up and down,
Run up and down.
Stop! Look at the light!
First look to the left,
Second look to the right!
Now, listen to me and repeat after me some sounds and words.

Listen to the poem again and then repeat it after me.
What words don’t you know?
How can you translate the poem?
III. Warm-up activities
Thank you. Be always careful in the street!
Our school is in Turgenev street, isn’t it? Is it on the left side of the road? What is on the left? What is on the right? What is opposite our school? What is next to the school? Do you go to school down or up?
– Thanks, I see you know where your school is and what is next to it. But we don’t know how to ask the way when we are in a strange town.
IV. New theme
The topic of our lesson is: “Can you tell me …?”
Today we’ll learn how to ask and explain the way in the street.
How must we ask a question to be polite? Do you know?
– Let’s read some cultural notes on page 41.
(Учитель и учащиеся читают правило в рубрике “When in Rome …”, если вы хотите задать вопрос незнакомому человеку на улице, будет невежливо обратиться к нему с прямым вопросом, в английском языке в такой ситуации правильно будет начать вопрос со слов “Can you tell me…?”)
– And now we must ask Mr. Help how to do it.
(Если перед специальным вопросом стоит фраза “Сan you tell me?”, то после вопросительного слова подлежащее ставится перед сказуемым “Can you tell me where the museum is?”)
– Let’s do ex.2 on p.42. Your task is to write polite questions and read them.

V. Listening and reading
So, we can ask the way when we don’t know where the bank, the school or the
supermarket is. But we can’t give the right answer when somebody asks us the way.
Let’s learn how we can do it.
– Look at the pictures in ex. 4 on p. 42 in your textbooks, listen to the short
dialogues and then read them.

Pupils work with their computer programmes.
They listen to the questions and find the necessary stop.
Задача учащихся прослушать инструкцию, запомнить маршрут следования и добраться на машине до нужного пункта. Правильно выполненное задание приносит 10 баллов. В случае необходимости учащиеся имеют возможность прослушать инструкцию многократно.
VIII. Dialogue speech
Look at the screen /Приложение 1/ and take your the dialogue charts and cards (Приложение 2, Приложение 3). The task is to help a foreigner to find the way in your town.
Please, make your own dialogues using the phrases: Can you tell me? How do I get to…?
– You may use the textbooks (ex.4, p.42-43).
