Цель урока: повторение лексики и речевых клише по теме “СМИ”.

Задачи:

  • развитие монологической и диалогической речи учащихся.
  • способствовать формированию профессионального самоопределения учащихся;
  • выявить интересы и пристрастия детей;
  • развивать мышление, память, внимание и воображение учащихся;
  • воспитывать уважительное отношение к интересам и увлечениям других людей.

Оборудование: мультимедиа установка, раздаточный материал, доска.

План:

  1. Организационный момент (2 минуты).
  2. Речевая разминка (2 минуты).
  3. Просмотр и обсуждение презентации (10 минут).
  4. Ответ на вопрос: Is it easy to be a journalist? (5 минут).
  5. Работа в парах (10 минут).
  6. Написание мини-сочинение о своем соседе по парте (5 минут).
  7. Инструктаж о домашнем задании (2 минута).
  8. Итоги урока (2 минуты).

Итог: резерв времени – (2 минуты)

Ход урока

Teacher: Good morning, students.

Students: Good morning.

Teacher: How are you?

Students: We are fine, thank you. And you?

Teacher: I’m fine. Sit down, please. Today we are going to imagine that we are journalists and work at the newspaper. Do you know who a journalist is?

Student 1: It is a person, who works at the newspaper.

Students 2: A journalist writes articles.

Student 3: He takes an interview.

Teacher: Yes, you are right. A journalist is very interesting profession. He communicates with people, see a lot of interesting places and travel a lot. Let’s speak about it. Look at the presentation. At the end you have to answer the question: Do you want to be a journalist? Write this question down in your copy-books. (Учитель начинает демонстрацию Презентации, стимулирует обсуждение важных вопросов.)

What do you think about a beat? What is it?

Student 1: It is a deal. It is the main point.

Student 2: It is the subject of the article or the reportage.

Teacher: Good. And why is it so important?

Students: Because without it you cannot work. A beat is the point of your work.

Teacher: It is very interesting idea. Do you agree with it?

Students: Yes!

Student A: I don’t agree.

Teacher: Why? Explain your point of view.

Student A: You can speak or write about a person not a beat.

Teacher: To my mind a person and a beat is the same. Look. A beat is a main idea of the journalist’s work. It is the main aspect. So if you are a journalist and you write an article about me I am a beat. Do you understand?

Student A: Yes, I do. I understand know.

Teacher: Thank you for your point of you. It is very important to express your thoughts. Now let’s think about next question. Do you know what developing sources are?

Students: No.

Teacher: Well. Try to guess. I heard that somebody have killed the Hollywood star. I have a friend who works at the police. And I ask him for help. He gives me some information. It is addresses of people who saw the murderer. And some telephone numbers. So, who is my friend?

Students: We don’t know.

Teacher: Look at the slide.

Students: Oh, he is a developing source.

Teacher: You are right. Do you think developing sources are important?

Student 1: Of course. They are main sources of information.

Teacher: Good. I am a journalist. I want to write about new reforms. Who will be my developing source?

Student 2: President?

Teacher: Oh, if I can archive him yes, he will be developing source. Good job. Now look at the slide and say to me. Is it easy to be a journalist? Why? Write down your answer on the sheet on paper. You have five minutes. The slide will help you.

Teacher: Give me your sheets of paper. Thank you. It is the end of our presentation. I hope we learn some new information about journalism. You trained your language and it is great. Now let’s have a fun. You have a chance of being a famous Hollywood Star beloved by millions of people. Moreover, you have a chance of being a hard working knight of the pen, who has won an opportunity of interviewing this star.

Teacher: Work in pairs. One of you is a star and the other is a journalist. The journalists ask some question and the stars answer. After that you change your roles. Let’s make the list of questions.

  18. Who is your favorite architect and why?
  19. Who is your favorite place in your native town and why?
  20. In what field of art are you interested in?
  21. What kinds of contests do you take part?
  22. In what kinds of sports competitions do you take part?
  23. Do you have any prizes or awards? Which?

  25. What do you want to be in the future? What can help you to make your dream come true?

Teacher: Are you ready? Very good. Write a shot composition about your partner using these questions as a plan and compare it with what your partner think about himself.

Now, let’s discus it altogether.
