Цель урока: учащиеся должны уметь вести дискуссию по теме "Чтение", а также делать связное монологическое высказывание по указанной теме.
Задачи урока:
- Обобщить, углубить и расширить знания по указанной теме.
- Совершенствовать умения и навыки практического владения английским языком по теме "Чтение" по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудированию, говорению, чтению и письму.
- Повысить интерес к изучению иностранного языка.
Ход урока
Teacher: Good morning, students!
Teacher: P1, P2, etc.
- How are you all today? Are you ok?
- Who is absent today?
- The weather is wonderful today, isn't it? ,etc.
Teacher: We'll speak about "Reading" today. We'll discuss the most
important problem nowadays: "Is reading important in our live or not?
Reading:? Why not?"
Teacher: Let's play in association game. Tell me, please, what associations do you have with the word "Reading". I'll write your words (associations) on the board.
Reading:
- fairy - tales;
- historical;
- a book;
- a writer;
- interesting;
- boring.
Teacher: You see students that there are a lot of words, which are associated with the word - "Reading".
And what are the most important words about "Reading"? (a book, a writer)
Teacher: You know that there are different types of books. What sorts of books do you know?
Ps: historical, science fiction, detective, etc.
Teacher: Let's look at the test ex. 2. Find the appropriate name for each type of book to fit the definition. Try to think of well-known example of each.
Teacher: P1, P2: What type of book are you captivated by?
Teacher: Students, what British writers and poets do you know? Name some of them?
Sts: Shakespeare, Robert Burns, Agatha Christie, etc.
Teacher: Let's read the text. And answer the question: Who is this text about? (Учащиеся читают текст о шотландском поэте Роберте Бернсе и выполняют задания к тексту, на поиск детальной информации в тексте. Выполненные задания проверяются в классе.)
Teacher: We have to do a test. Match British writers and poets names with these facts. (Ученики выполняют тест, а затем называют имена писателей и факты, связанные с их жизнью.)
Teacher: P1, P2: Who is your favourite British writer and why? (Учащиеся отвечают на вопрос учителя, рассказывают о любимом писателе Британии)
Teacher: I believe that nowadays there is a great problem with reading
because most of children don't like reading. Teens enjoy different activities like computing, watching TV and listening to music.
In spite of we know that reading makes a full man and educates people.
I ask you to listen to the tape and answer the questions:
What activities do teens enjoy during their holidays?
Who likes reading? Name some reasons.
(Ученики слушают высказывания подростков о любимых занятиях, отвечают на вопросы учителя)
Teacher: Let's we have to do projects. Get in to groups of 4.The theme of our project is "The importance of reading". (Ученики делятся на 4 группы и на плакатах пишут фломастерами утверждения о важности чтения в нашей жизни, затем утверждения зачитываются вслух каждой группой. Учащиеся делают презентацию проекта.) For example:
1) Reading educates people.
2) While reading I never feel bored.
3) Reading makes us thinking, etc.
Teacher: P1, P2, etc. Express your opinion students: is reading important in your live or not? Why?
(Ученики высказывают свою точку зрения по теме "Чтение: за и против", используя материал урока, проекты, сделанные на уроке)
Teacher: In conclusion I would like to say that reading is important because first of all it expands our outlook. It could help to solve some live problems. Reading informs about countries and people, about our world and life as whole. Reading books is the perfect way to relax and spend free time. As for me, while reading I never feel bored. The saying by Richard Steele: "Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body" reflects my opinion about reading. We expand our out look by reading. I advise you to read more. I believe that it will be necessary for you in your future life. Reading will help you to be educated person.
