- Читать и воспринимать на слух рассказ о школе;

I. Организационный момент. (1 мин.)
– Good morning, children! I am glad to see you.
– Today we shall have a talk about the beginning of the school year, the first day of schooling. Are you ready to start our lesson?

IV. Тренировка навыка чтения. (5 мин.)
– I think it is time to check up your homework now. Your task was to do exercise 17, page 11 and read the class what you did on 1st September this year. Saida, will you be first? Учитель организует проверку домашнего задания и выслушивает рассказы нескольких учеников, задает вопросы:
– Do you usually miss your classmates in summer? – Are you usually nervous on the first of September? – Is it difficult for you to get up early?

Listen to the first part of Olga’s story about the 1st class pupils in Russia. Fill in the blanks.
At the age of 6 or 7 Russian children go to school. School starts on the first of September. Before school the parents buy school items like exercise-books, pens, crayons … and, of course, a new school bag. It’s a very exiting day! The first class pupils get up early in the morning. They get washed and have breakfast. After that they get dressed in their best clothes. Some pupils get dressed in school uniforms.
Listen to the second part of Olga’s story about the 1st class pupils in Russia. Fill in the blanks. (Unit 2 part 12, диск “Английский язык, 6 класс. Кирилл и Мефодий ”)
It’s a happy and exciting day for all the first class pupils. They go to school with their parents and carry bouquets of flowers. It is a tradition in Russia to give flowers to teachers on the first day of school. The 1st class pupils line up for their first time in front of the school. A first year girl rings the first bell. After this ceremony the 1st class pupils have one or two lessons. During their first lessons they play games and make new friends. The parents take a lot of pictures and make videos.
VI. Активизация навыков диалогической речи. (2 мин.)
Учащимся заранее было дано задание подготовить материал о школах в Великобритании. Также они должны были составить вопросы для импровизированного диалога по данной теме.

– It starts in September.
– At what age do students go to a secondary school?
– At the age of 11-12.
– Do British students wear a school uniform?
– Most students do. The favourite colours for school uniform are blue, grey, black and green.
– Do students in Britain learn foreign languages at school?
– Yes, they do. Usually French is the first foreign language they learn at school. Sometimes they also learn a second foreign language: German, Spanish, Russian…
– What school holidays do British students have?
– They have Christmas holidays, Easter holidays and Summer holidays. Schools also have special half-term holidays in the middle of each term. These holidays last 2-3 days before or after a weekend.
– How long does a lesson last?
– It lasts 40 or 45 minutes.
