• Расширить словарный запас за счет лексики предназначенной для  овладения.
• Формировать представлений о достопримечательностях страны изучаемого языка

6. CD-диск. Образовательная коллекция. Английский язык для школьников 5-9х классов.

Оборудование: карта Великобритании, карточка со словами, текст для каждого ученика, компьютер, проектор, тест для каждого ученика.

I. Оргмомент

Приветствие
Беседа с учениками о делах.
Беседа с дежурным.

II. Актуализация опорных ЗУН

– As you know, each country has its own proverbs. Proverbs make language more beautiful and more alive.
– Look at the blackboard. Here you can see some English proverbs. Please, find the other half of the English proverb.
– I say Russian equivalent of these proverbs, and you say me the English one.

East or West home is best.
My home is my castle.
There is no place like home.

– You should translate these words into Russia

III. Формирование новых знаний, умений и навыков

– As you know London is the biggest city in Britain.
– Answer my questions:

• Where is the United Kingdom situated?
• What islands do the British Isles consist of?
• What is the capital of Great Britain?

– Many years ago London was a small town on the river Thames. Now London is a big city with large squares and parks. About 7 million people live here.
– Let’s listen to the text about “Sightseeing in London”.
(Ученики слушают текст 2 раза)
– Have you heard new words?
– Let’s repeat and translate the words.
– Open your dictionary and writ it.
– Now, let’s read and translate the text.
(Ученики читают текст про себя потом по цепочке)
– Now we are going to speak about the symbol of London.
– How do you think what it is?
– It is Big Ben. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London.
– Look at the blackboard. Let’s read about it.
– Big Ben is part of nice building the House of Parliament.
– On the other side of Parliament is Westminster Abbey. What do you know about it? Let’ read.

– Look. It is Buckingham Palace. It was built in1703. Let’ read.
– You can see the Tower of London. It was a fortress, a prison and now it is the museum.
– What do you know about it? Salima tells us, please.

– Let’s go to the Park. There a lot of parks in London. Where you can relax and play.

– Hide Park was opened in 1637. Londeners are very proud of their city.
Lena tells us.
– The centre of London is Trafalgar Square. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is monument to Admiral Nelson. There are two beautiful fountains in the square. 
– Who wants to tell us about St. Paul’s Cathedral?
– One of the greatest English churches St. Paul’s Cathedral is not far from the Tower of London. It is many columns and towers.
– There are so many other places to see and visit in London but you cannot do all during one lesson.
You have learned more interesting facts about London. Do you want to visit London?
Let’s make up dialogue about London. One of you is a guide and another is a tourist.
