Познавательный аспект – знакомство учащихся с празднованием Рождества и Нового года в разных странах, с образом главного персонажа, традициями и обычаями разных народов в проведении этих праздников.
Развивающий аспект – развитие способности к сравнению, развитию языковой догадки, интуиции;
Воспитательный аспект – формирование терпимого отношения к мнению другого человека, воспитание уважительного отношения к иноязычной культуре;
Учебный аспект – развитие навыков чтения, говорения, аудирования, письма;
Сопутствующая задача – закрепление и повторение лексики:

I. Организационный момент.

That one isn’t kind, his name is Chalande. He has many birches (розги) for the lazy children in his basket. And the children of France sing the songs and dance to get round ( задабривать) him. Let’s dance and sing the song!

In Christmas Eve she comes down the chimney and puts her presents in the stockings for the good children but for the bad children she gives ash (зола). T: We have a guest from Uzbekistan. His name is Kerbobo. He is a Father of New Year. Kerbobo wears striped robe (восточный халат) and puts on red cap. He rides on the donkey and has the pockets of presents. Kerbobo doesn’t come to the children on Christmas. Why ?
P1: Christmas is a religious Christian holiday.
T: You have the dialogue on the table.

Dialogue:
Tom: You don’t celebrate Xmas, do you?
Rashid: Never.
Tom: Why?
Rashid: My family is Muslim, my parents were born in Iran. My religion doesn’t allow me to celebrate it, because Xmas is a Christian holiday.
Tom: I don’t think much of Christ. For me celebration is a good opportunity to get together. We listen to some good music and have a great chat.
Rashid: I feel the same. I want to celebrate any holiday irrespective of (независимо от) its religious background. I don’t think about it. I just like the spirit of a holiday.
