Цель урока: активизация лексического материала по теме, совершенствование навыков диалогической и монологической речи.

Задачи урока:

Образовательные

  • знакомство со столицей Великобритании,
  • активизация изученной лексики, монологического высказывания,
  • формирование навыков составления и разыгрывания диалогов,

Развивающие

  • совершенствование познавательной активности учащихся,
  • углубление знаний о стране изучаемого языка,
  • умение пользоваться дополнительными источниками для поиска информации,
  • развитие речевых умений учащихся,
  • тренировка навыков диалогической речи.

Воспитательные

  • совершенствование навыков работы в коллективе,
  • привитие учащимся ответственности и инициативы в организации урока и подборе материала,
  • воспитание памяти и внимания.

Оборудование урока:

  • smart - доска с презентацией видов Лондона, салона самолета, магазина, кафе,
  • творческие работы учащихся, посещавших Лондон,
  • кроссворд по теме урока,
  • магнитофон с аудиозаписями песен.

Организационный момент. Постановка цели урока.

Good morning, pupils and our guests. We are glad to see you. Let’s begin our lesson. Today we are going on to talk about Great Britain. At the lesson you will get some new information about London and the people of this country.

Ход урока

On the twelfth of December our group of tourists leaves the Sheremetievo airport and flies to London. Let’s listen to their dialogues.

- Good morning, sir. Have you got a ticket?

-Yes, here you are. Flight 577 to London.

- Where is your luggage, sir? Is it all?

- That’s all right, sir.

- Where would you like to seat: smoking or non-smoking area?

- Non-smoking, please.

- Here is your boarding pass. Your flight is in forty minutes.

- Thank you.

- You are welcome.

Сцена в самолете. (Ученики сидят рядами, на доску спроецирован салон самолета. «Пассажиры» ведут беседу.)

Our tourists have seats in different compartments: for smokers and non-smokers and in different rows. Practically they all have English speaking neighbours.

1) - It’s a very nice plane, isn’t it?

Oh, yes, quite comfortable.

Диалоги в самолете:

- May I have a newspaper, please?

- Yes, certainly. Here you are.

- Thank you… Excuse my curiosity, are you Russian?

- Yes, I am. I’m going to London on a short stay.

- Are you a tourist then?

- No, I am going to England for some training as a businessman.

You speak very fluent English.

- I’m learning English after my office hours. There are many Russian businessmen who are learning English.

2) – Hi, Milana! Glad to meet you. How are you?

– Fine, thanks, and you?

- OK. You know, Milana, we have recently moved into a new flat.

- Have you?

- And what’s your address now?

- It’s flat number 45, 68 Green Road. Our flat is large and rather comfortable. We have all modern conveniences: gas, electricity, hot and cold running water. We’ve got central heating too.

- I’m glad to hear that.

3) – Excuse me, what’s the time, please?

- It’s a quarter past ten.

- It’s Moscow time, isn’t it?

- Oh, yes. If you want London time, then …let me see…the difference is three hours.

- I see, it’s now a quarter past seven, London time….

We are in London. We’ll start sightseeing. (Экскурсия по Лондону. Проводят учащиеся 6-го класса.) Экскурсоводы знакомят туристов с достопримечательностями столицы:

  • The City
  • The Tower of London
  • St’ Paul’s Cathedral
  • Westminster Abbey
  • Trafalgar Square
  • The National Gallery.

Our friends have free time. And they have decided to go to the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. They’ve got out of the hotel. Далее следуют диалоги учащихся о том, как пройти до ближайшей остановки автобуса, беседа с жителями города (учащимися 6-го класса).

Londoners are proud of their “big red buses”. These days some of them may not be red but they always carry the red roundel. On many London buses passengers buy tickets from the driver when they get on. Some buses, however have a conductor, and the passengers get on the bus and he sell them the tickets. Travel cards are very popular for a bus travelling.

Here are some things you may hear on a bus in London. (На экран спроецирован лондонский автобус.) Ученик звенит в колокольчик и объявляет:

- Fares, please!

- Four pence, please!

- Full up inside!

- Plenty of seats on top. Standing room only.

- No more seats on top…

На отдыхе туристы поют песню группы “The Beatles” “Yellow submarine”.

In England most shops open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Monday to Saturday.

One day one of our classmates went to Foyle’s, a famous book shop in the centre of London.

Диалоги туристов в магазине. Примерные вопросы учащихся:

- Can I have this book and this poster, please?

- Where can I buy a few first class stamps for America?

- Where is the nearest post-office? и т. д.

And finally we were very hungry and went to the snack bar. Please, listen to the dialogues.

Беседа за столом. Примерные диалоги:

- Would you like some cocktail?

- No, thanks. Orange juice for me, please…

- Wonderful weather we are having today.

- Yes, it is not very warm for this season…

- What’s the temperature today?

- It’s almost ten degrees above zero.

- Is it really so warm?

- Yes, it is. But I’m afraid the weather will soon change…

Итоги урока. Вопросно-ответная работа в парах. Вопросы проецируются на доску:

  3. What does the Tower of London used for?
  4. What is the City?
  5. What do you know about St. Paul’s Cathedral?
  6. What is Whitehall and in which part of London is it situated?
