Страноведческая тематика всегда вызывает огромный интерес у учащихся, поэтому эти уроки я всегда стараюсь сделать по возможности разнообразными по форме и содержанию. Предлагаю Вашему вниманию вводный урок по теме «Лондон». Урок разработан на основе УМК «Английский язык» О.В.Афанасьевой и И.В.Михеевой для школ с углубленным изучением английского языка
Тип урока. Вводный урок.
М Е Т О Д И Ч Е С К И Й У Р О К
Тема: Welcome to London
Цель урока. Первичное введение материала по страноведению. Знакомство учащихся со столицей страны изучаемого языка.
Образовательная задача. Практика учащихся в чтении, говорении, аудировании.
Воспитательная задача. Формирование у учащихся уважения и интереса к стране изучаемого языка.
Развивающая задача. Развитие зрительной и слуховой памяти, логического мышления, коммуникативных умений.
Оформление урока. Виды Лондона, пословица на доске.
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент. Беседа с дежурным.
2. Введение в урок.
Dear friends! Today we’ll begin to work on a very interesting theme. We’ll learn a lot of interesting things about London – the capital of the UK. We learn English and it’s necessary for us to know a lot about the country which language we study, about its capital and traditions. Let’s begin our work.
3. Фонетическая зарядка.
Look at the blackboard and listen to the proverb. “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page”. Do you agree with it? I think you do. Listen to the proverb once more. Now say it after me. (Устная отработка произношения отдельных слов): world, those, read, who - затем повторение пословицы хором и отдельными учащимися.
Certainly we want to read a book but not a page. But we have no chance to travel. What should we do? We should read a lot of books about different countries. The more you read the more you know. So we’ll read and learn a lot about London at our lessons.
4. Речевая зарядка.
And I am waiting for a guest. I want you to meet a young girl. She is from London. (Стук в дверь). Oh, I think she has come. (Входит старшеклассница с заранее придуманной легендой).
Come in, please. We are glad to see you. Dear friends. This is Helen. She is a student. She is from London. She likes to travel. That’s she is here. I want you to ask Helen about her hobbies, her family, about her house in London.

Helen: “ London is the capital of the UK. It is the biggest city in Britain. More than 8 million people live and work there. London is a centre for business and for tourism. There are many theatres, museums, cinemas in London. There are many beautiful large parks. You can have a very good time there. I want to show you some pictures of my native city. THIS IS LONDON
Betsy likes to read very much. Her favourite subjects at school are History and Geography. Look! Betsy has just opened her book and is going to read out something about London. Would you like to learn something about London? We think it would be interesting for you. You will find some facts about London from the book in this lesson and in other lessons too. Here is the first page of Betsy's book. Read it and say why London is one of the most interesting places in the world.
London is the biggest city in Britain. More than seven million people live and work there. London is one of the most important cities in the world. It is a centre for business and for tourism.
In London you can find some of the best theatres, cinemas and museums. There are many beautiful old churches in London too. There are about 10 thousand streets in London. Most of the streets are not very wide. You can see many shops in London. Oxford Street is London's main shopping centre. You can buy clothes, shoes and toys in it. People from all over the world shop in Oxford Street. You can find many old and new beautiful parks in the city. The largest park in London is Hyde Park. It is one of the most popular places of Londoners on summer days. There are many other pleasant parks and green squares there too.
