Празднование Рождества и Нового года в Англии

• Познакомить учащихся с лексикой по теме: "Подготовка к празднованию Рождества" и обеспечить её первичную отработку в серии языковых и речевых упражнений.
• Практиковать уч-ся в чтении и обсуждении прочитанного.
• Совершенствовать навыки устной речи.
• Активизировать творческую активность уч-ся, развивать языковую память через изучение стихотворений, песен, прививать интерес к культуре страны изучаемого языка.

1. Приветствие. Сообщение темы.

Teacher: Hello, my friends. Today we have a very interesting lesson. I hope that all of you will work today with great pleasure because we'll remember about the celebration of New Year and Christmas.

2. Введение нового лексического материала и его отработка.

Imagine that today is the Christmas Eve and we prepare to celebrate this holiday.

Let's learn some new words to get more information about Christmas. Open your books at p. 130 find ex.1.Listen to the speaker and then read these words.

(упражнение выполняется фронтально.)

3. Работа над текстом и обсуждение прочитанного.

Teacher: The English must do a lot of things before Christmas. Look at ex.3 p.130.Let's listen to this talk.

(Учащиеся прослушивают диалог упр.3. с кассеты).

Teacher: These are some pictures. Now read and match parts of the text and the pictures

(Поочередно читается каждая часть текста в учебнике. Учащиеся соотносят картинки с каждой частью текста.)

Teacher: Answer my questions, please.Ex.4 p.131will help you to find the right answers

When does Christmastime begin in Britain? What do people buy? When are there a lot of Christmas parties for friends? What do children write to Santa Claus? When is Christmas? Where do children find presents? What is traditional Christmas food?

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы).

4. Развитие навыков устной речи.

Teacher: Well done! Do you know how children celebrate Christmas in England? Let's open your books at p.132 and read the rubric "English in focus".Pay attention to the girl's letter. Writing letters to Santa Claus is a very old English tradition. Now let's read this letter.

(Учащиеся читают текст про себя, затем его читает один из учеников)

Teacher: What do you know about the girl? One of you will ask a question and the other will answer.

(Учащиеся задают вопросы и отвечают на них).

Примерные вопросы:

What is the girl's name?

Where does she live?

Does Linda help her Mum?

Teacher: The Russians put their presents under the Christmas tree. And what's about the English? Read the information about it on p.132.

(Учащиеся читают текст самостоятельно про себя).

Teacher: Look at the pictures on p.133 for a moment, close the book and describe what's happening.

(Учащиеся описывают картинки).

5. Переход к празднованию Нового года.

Teacher: Christmas is closely connected with another winter holiday. It is New Year. People celebrate it on the first day of January, but celebration begins on New Year's Eve-31^st of December.

(Учащиеся читают стих. "The grand New Year").

It's coming, boys, A year for trying
It's almost here, And not for sighing
It's coming girls, A year for shriving
The grand New Year, And hearty thriving
A year to be glad in, It's coming, boys,
Not to be sad in It's almost here,

To gain, to give in. The grand New Year.

Teacher: Who is the main hero of Christmas and New Year Day? Of course Santa Claus.

(Заранее ученикам было предложено написать письма и нарисовать Санта- Клауса)

Please, show us the pictures of Santa Claus which you drew at home.

(Учащиеся представляют свои рисунки, которые вывешиваются на доску). Приложение 1.

Teacher: The children usually write letters to Santa Claus and give promises to the coming New Year. What promises would you like to give to Santa Claus? Приложение 2.

What presents would you like to get?

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы).

Teacher: Santa Claus has become the most beloved of Christmas and New Year symbols and traditions. But many countries have kept their own customs and trailers of Santa Claus.

(Учащимся даётся текст о прототипах Санта Клауса в других странах. Текст читается с учителем). Приложение 3.

Teacher: Answer my questions, please.

1. Who brings gifts in England?
2. What is the name of a good witch in Italy?
3. Who sails in a ship in Holland?
4. Who brings gifts in France?
5. Do you believe in elf?

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы).

Teacher: Now, it's time for presents! Look at the blackboard. There are very many beautiful stockings on it. These presents are for you.

(Над доской, на верёвочке подвешиваются носочки, сделанные из бумаги. В них заранее кладутся мелкие игрушки, конфеты. Чтобы получить подарок, необходимо срезать его ножницами с завязанными глазами).

6. Подведение итогов урока.

Teacher: I think you've learned a lot of interesting things about Christmas traditions in England. I'd like to give you good marks.

And now let's sing a song: " Jingle Bells".

(В заключение урока уч-ся исполняют песню). Приложение 4.

Your task for the next lesson: please, write a letter to Santa Claus. You can use the words of ex. A on p.133. Ex. B is a task for fun.
