Цель урока: совершенствование умения и навыков практического владения английским языком.
Задача урока:
- Воспитывать в учащихся положительное, уважительное отношение к окружающим, толерантность к людям с ограниченными возможностями, людям принадлежащим к другим этническим группам, бездомным и нуждающимся детям.
- Развивать интерес к решению трудных социальных задач в других странах, особенно в США, где вопросы политической корректности занимают важное место.
Цитата дня на доске: «Real change will come from the bottom up».
ТСО: телевизор, видеомагнитофон, магнитофон.
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент (число, месяц, обсуждение погоды).
2. Vocabulary - на доске. Повторить слова по теме и объяснить их значение на английском языке.
- Homeless – someone who has no home.
- Lone – someone without other people, without dearest and nearest relatives, children and grandchildren.
- Irresponsible – someone who does careless things without thinking or worrying about the possible results.
- Unable – someone who has no skill, power, time or other means to do something.
- Illiterate – someone who has not learned to read and to write.
- Unemployed – someone who has no job.
- Unemployable – not suitable to be employed.
- Undervalued – thought to be less important than something/somebody really is.
- Disabled – someone who is not able to use his body.
- Prejudice – when people do not like or trust someone who is different in some way.
3. Discussion (ученики обсуждают тему «бедность» и разделяют данные учителем понятия на две группы).
Тема – Poverty (Effects and Causes.):
- Debts.
- Lack of education.
- Lack of leisure.
- Unemployment.
- Stress, crime.
- Discrimination.
- Retirement.
- Breakdown.
- Suicidal.
- Charity.
- Place a child in care.
4. Просмотр отрывка из документального фильма и обсуждение.
Цель обсуждения – развитие неподготовленной заранее речи на английском языке.
5. Presentation: «Poverty in Russia»,«Stereotypes and communication».
Основные тезисы презентации:
The government must be responsible for the poverty in the country.
Some children when they start school can’t keep up with rest because they don’t have necessary social and learning skills.
If you have a stereotype, you think that all people in group act and look the same. But this is not true.
In every group people are different. If we have stereotypes we may treat people unfairly.
Ученики предлагают свои идеи регулирование вопроса.
- Organizing new schools will make easier for disadvantage children to get education.
- Asking a charity for help will help people and children to cope with poverty.
- People have prejudice because of religion, race, ability, age, gender or anything about a person that makes him different. Prejudice is dangerous, because it leads to discrimination.
6. Учитель: Look around!!! There are so many social problems that your generation is going to solve in future. Try to explain these statements.
- Real change will come from the bottom up.
- Fighting against poverty is difficult without an education.
