Тема "Путешествия и отдых" достаточно популярна. Её можно встретить в любом УМК, где лексика отрабатывается по разным уровням: от элементарного до сложного. К концу девятого класса учащиеся должны свободно высказываться по теме, составлять диалоги и так далее. В 10-11-х классах школьники скорее углубляют свои знания, чем расширяют их. Учитывая уровень сложности содержания ЕГЭ по английскому языку, учителя стараются подбирать соответствующую лексику и отрабатывать её в заданиях экзаменационного типа.
В современных отечественных УМК по английскому языку появляется всё больше упражнений на множественный выбор, заполнение пропусков, словообразование. Однако их не хватает для качественной отработки материала. Учителю приходится обращаться к дополнительным источникам. Таких ресурсов (как электронных, так и книжных) сейчас немало. В этом, порой, и заключается трудность выбора. С каждым годом появляется всё больше учебной литературы, но невозможно объять необъятное.
В этой статье предлагаю вашему вниманию лексический материал и упражнения на его тренировку из тех источников, которые чаще всего использую в своей работе.
Одной из самых важных забот учителя в старших классах является подготовка учащихся к сдаче единого государственного экзамена. На мой взгляд, достаточно полезны в этой работе УМК издательства "Лонгман" и "Макмиллан". Для тренировки лексики использую First Certificate (Use of English), авторы Judy Copage with tests by Jain Cook; учебные пособия для подготовки к ЕГЭ по английскому языку (например, Грамматика и лексика), авторы Malkolm Mann, Steve Taylore-Knowles, Elena Klekovkina. Приведу примеры некоторых заданий.
1. Collocations with have, do, make.

Для расширения словарного запаса полезно знакомить детей с пословицами, поговорками и устойчивыми выражениями. Они позволяют ознакомить учащихся с новыми значениями известных слов, провести аналогию с родным языком, а также повысить интерес к изучению привычных, казалось бы, тем.
