Цель:
- способствовать средствами иностранного языка расширению и углублению общего, а также экологического и лингвистического образования школьников, их экологическому и гуманистическому воспитанию и разностороннему развитию;
- способствовать созданию условий для изменения мотивационной сферы при обучении учащихся биологических групп профильных классов.
Задачи:
- Образовательная: учить применять полученные знания на практике, в деловых ситуациях; формировать навыки исследовательской деятельности учащихся через поиск информации, выявление проблемы.
- Воспитательная: воспитывать ответственное отношение к окружающей среде и к своему здоровью; воспитывать культуру умственного труда учащихся через организацию языковой среды, выявление экологических проблем и их решение.
- Развивающая: развивать мировоззрение школьников в духе нового мышления; формировать их эмоционально -целостное отношение к миру.

April 22 is the Earth Day.
People all over the world think about our planet.
They think about air, water, plants, animals on the Earth.
They say: “ Our planet is in danger!”
Звучит тревожная музыка “Дерево”, ансамбль “Арсенал” . На сцене полумрак, завывание ветра, сухие деревья, все серо-голубое.

Harmful wastes, car fumes pollute the air.
Acid rains destroy the nature.
If we don^t take care of the air , we ^ll turn our planet into desert.

P1 77% per cent of Siberia is covered with forest. On the shore of the Baikal there are more than 300 000 kinds of plants: pine-trees, cedars, fir-trees birch, maples, aspen, larches. These trees are useful. Cedar is used in medicine, food, chemical industry and building. Birch is used in medicine too. The birch juice is rich in vitamins.
P2 Larch is called a stone tree, because it is as hard as a stone in water.
P3 Pine- tree is called a sunny tree, because it is warm. Both these trees are used in building.

P4 To see the effect of the rivers^ and lakes^ pollution just have a look at Lake Baikal.
Some years ago the water of the Baikal was the purist in the world. Lake Baikal is the second largest reservoir of drinking water in the world after Great Lakes. The only Lake Baikal can give drinking water for all people of our planet during 40 years. But nowadays we can^t say it is pure.

P5 Factories and homes are dumping thousands tones of wastes into rivers and lakes and poison them. Because of the water pollution 55% of the world purest water have been ruined.
P6 Drinking water is our wealth. We, people, must hear “sos” signals of Lake Baikal.
P7 Angarsk is my native town. It is a town of chemical industry. So the air and water pollution is the problem for us. Every year about 342 million tones of wastes are dumped into the Angara River by Angarsk chemical enterprises. Baikal omul and seals die. More and more people have lung and stomach disease, and even cancer.
P8 We, people, must hear the “sos” of the river Angara.
